#5 Advocating for Infill Opportunities in the City of Tucson
Recently, builder and developer members met with City staff to discuss the proposed Grant Road Investment District (GRID) . This proposed overlay is a zoning option intended to encourage transit -oriented development along a key stretch of Grant Road. Our members provided feedback focused on the review process, design criteria and incentives to facilitate new residential construction. We appreciate the outreach of City staff and expect the GRID will create new opportunities for members to build residential and commercial mixed-use projects in an area they might not have otherwise had the opportunity. This will help create new housing and shopping opportunities for consumers and generate tax revenue for the City.
