#2 Partnerships Create Win-Win

SAHBA Partners with Tucson Cactus & Succulent Society

Recently, SAHBA met with the Tucson Cactus & Succulent Society to discuss partnerships with builders. Based on that meeting and subsequent discussions with builders, SAHBA is working with the Society and the industry to create awareness and opportunities to work together. The Society will work within development schedule timeframes to salvage native plants which could help builders meet regulatory obligations at no additional cost.

#3 Efforts to Help Our Members' Labor Needs Continues to Progress

This week, SAHBA’s involvement in workforce development and training was highlighted in the Home Builder Institute’s spring newsletter, HBI Quarterly . This nationally circulated newsletter spotlighted SAHBA's program at the recent Government Liaison Breakfast. As a result of the event, HBI has been in discussions with the City and County about expanding programming locally. Stay tuned for further updates. HBA is a national nonprofit that provides training, curriculum development and job placement services for the building industry. #4 SAHBA-Remodelers To Assist Vet's Home Remodeling

"National Home Remodeling Month" is here. To celebrate at their May meeting, SAHBA Remodelers Council voted to explore a volunteer project with Purple Heart Homes, and help retrofit a home for a disabled veteran by Veteran's Day, Nov. 11. If you'd like to help or contribute, please contact Council Chair Patty Richardson.
