News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School

Dear Families,
Happy Advent! This season, which began last Sunday and continues for three additional Sundays, is one of the most special times to be a part of Saint Andrew. At Saint Andrew, much effort is put into preparation for the real meaning of Christmas. This past Friday, our School Saints worked together as younger and older students collaborated to make Advent wreaths which adorn the doors in every hallway. Our large Advent wreath welcomes all who enter our front door. Each morning starts with this year's Advent song played over the intercom: Chris Tomlin's "Waiting Here for You". Additionally, kind acts performed by students and staff are written on slips of brown paper which will be placed in our school manger to prepare the soft place for Jesus to lay when Christmas arrives. An Advent calendar was also sent home with ideas for families to celebrate at home. Please ask your children about the things they are doing to prepare their hearts for Advent, which means "coming" in Latin. May God bless each of you during this Advent season.
Only by His Grace,
Veronica D. Tucker

Many thanks to the almost 200 parents who have already completed the Before Care Interest Survey. If you have not yet already completed the survey, please do by this Friday. The survey can be found at:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BeforeCareSurvey
|
You may remember that a homework survey was done in the first quarter. The grades that had more than the homework amount we are aiming for were surveyed again a couple of weeks ago. We are getting closer to our goal and will continue to work towards a balance between quality homework and respecting family time. Thank you for your patience!

ANNUAL AUCTION CLASS PROJECTS
|
Keri Steele & Valerie Freeman are co-chairing class projects for 4th - 8th grade and Jeanne Lott & Jennifer DeSantis are co-chairing projects for Preschool - 3rd grade for our annual auction. These projects have raised as much as $13k in years past and are always popular with parents.
We are planning to meet after drop-off (7:45-8ish) on Thursday, December 7th in the cafeteria. Mark your calendars!
We would love to have a huge turnout with some older and newer parents working together.
Please start brainstorming and looking at Pinterest for some ideas. We would like to have all the volunteers and project ideas decided once the meeting is complete so everyone can start working on the projects after Christmas break. Time will fly by once we return in 2018.
If you would like to help or have some ideas and can't make the meeting-we would be happy to present it.
Please email us at
T
hanks for your support.
