News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School
April 24, 2018
Dear Families,

Thank you for your incredibly generous support of the Auction! A HUGE shout-out to Cherrie Cannon and Erica Kinchen for their efforts. It takes a full year to prepare for that one magical night in April. These awesome Moms gave countless hours for the benefit of every student at Saint Andrew and we are forever grateful. Thanks also go out to all committee chairs and our Development team. And, thank you to all who gave that night and the many who gave online and those who volunteered their time. And it's not too late! You can still visit and purchase Wildcat Parties or donate to our Fund-A-Project through https://one.bidpal.net/standrew2018/welcome. Our goal is to place the interactive learning monitors into as many classrooms as possible. We would love to blow our goal out of the water so please consider giving. Every student at Saint Andrew Catholic School will benefit from these devices which allow us to enhance instruction and engage all types of learners. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for supporting the students of Saint Andrew!

Only by His Grace,
Veronica D. Tucker

NJHS TUTORING
Last tutoring session of the year!!

If your child (2nd - 6th grade) needs help with homework, studying or organization, the National Junior Honor Society  Junior Ments can help! Tutoring will take place in Mrs. Reed's classroom from 3:10pm -  3:40pm*

Please  click here  to sign up for tutoring on Tuesday, May 1st.

MAY CROWNING
Saint Andrew Catholic School's annual May Crowning will take place on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Church.  We gather to honor Mary during this special service, a long standing tradition of our 8th grade students.  One girl and one boy from the eighth grade class are selected each year for the honor of placing a beautiful crown of flowers on the statues of Mary and Joseph.

We would like for all students to bring a flower on Tuesday morning to honor Mary.  The flowers are to be dropped off in the Cafeteria first thing in the morning on the way to class  We ask that you do not send the bright neon colored/dyed flowers and flowers with glitter. They tend to be a little messy!

Parents, we would love to have your help arranging the flowers for the May Crowning. This will take place in the cafeteria immediately after drop off. If you would like to help or have any questions, please email Lisa Harrington.

FROM THE NURSE'S DESK
Can  you believe there are only 5 weeks left of school? This year has flown b y!  Thank you all for your patience, kindness and encouragement as we learned the ropes here at Saint Andrew, it has been a wonderful journey.

As the year closes there are several things to keep in mind:

1.  If you received an email regarding hearing, vision, or Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) referrals please follow-up with your child's pediatrician and get the information back to us.

2.  Sports Physicals will once again be done at the UNT Health Science center.  The date is August 11, but times have not been posted.  Keep in mind that any child who wishes to play school sports, MUST have a physical completed on or after June 1.

3.  If your child has medication in the clinic it MUST be picked up by the last day of school or it will be properly disposed of.  We can not store medications here over the summer.

4.  Every student who needs medication kept in the clinic- whether prescription or over the counter we MUST have a new form filled out every year. If your child has an Epinepherine Pen due to allergic reactions, a new Allergy plan of care will also be needed. You can download the medication permit from the school website or stop by the clinic and pick up a blank form.

5.  If your student will be entering Kindergarten or 7th grade next year then he or she will need Vaccine Boosters please be on watch for a letter to be mailed out giving you information on which vaccines are needed. If your child has received vaccines since school started in August, please send us a copy of those records.

6.  Upcoming field day May 29, we do NOT keep sunscreen or bug spray in the clinic. Students are not allowed to keep either item with them during field day. You are welcome to apply sunscreen and bug spray at home prior to arriving to school for the day.

Thank you for letting us care for your children while they are at school. It has been a pleasure getting to know the students here and we are looking forward to next year!

Sincerely,
Bette Felder, RN and Michelle Russell, RN
