News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School
October 3, 2017
FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

Let the countdown to the Fall Festival Begin! Only Five Days until the big day is here. I LOVE the Fall Festival. Each year at the Fall Festival, I am taken back to the festivals of my childhood. The Fall Festivals of the 1980s were magical to me. Most of the Festival took place in the courtyard (which used to be completely blacktop) and it seemed bigger than life. The confetti eggs were the hot item then - just as they are now.  Now 35 years later, the Fall Festival has grown exponentially and I now see the magic it creates for all the students at Saint Andrew, including my own four children. I am amazed at the generosity of our volunteers, the number of cakes that are collected, how difficult it can be to get confetti and silly string out of hair and how quickly children can spend tickets. This is more than a fundraiser. It is an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the beauty of this school and parish.

Please be sure to sign up to work your family shift and contribute your cakes, confetti eggs and silly string. This event only works when everyone chips in. I look forward to seeing you at Oktoberfest on Saturday night and the Fall Festival on Sunday. You'll probably find me, with my Dad, at the Cake Walk! :)

Only By His Grace,
Veronica Tucker

PURCHASE YOUR FALL FESTIVAL COMBO ONLINE

Every year we ask that each family donate 2 cakes, 1 dozen confetti eggs and 3 cans of silly string for the Fall Festival. If you would rather us do the shopping for you, you can purchase the combo of your choice online by clicking here or you can download the attached form and turn it in to the school office.

ANNUAL FUND PERKS FOR THE FALL FESTIVAL

For anyone who is considering giving at the leadership level of the Annual Fund ($2000 or above) please turn in your pledge card by Thursday, October 5  and your family will receive:

FREE $50 in Fall Festival tickets to spend at the Fall Festival
and
2 FREE Fall Festival reserved parking passes

In addition, for donating at that level you will receive a FREE reserved table for 10 at the Auction Dinner April 21, 2018 at River Ranch on the Northside.  Remember you have until April to pay your pledge with a credit card, check, or cash. Also, you can split the table in half at $1000 a piece or in 1/4s and pay $500.

If you work for a matching fund like BNSF, Wells Fargo, Verizon, etc.  you would only pay $1000 and they pay the other half!

THANK YOU all for your constant support of your fine Catholic school.

3RD GRADE PRAIRIE DAY NEEDS YOUR CANS

Mrs. Dyer is collecting empty clean soup/vegetable/bean/etc cans that have been opened with a safety can opener (so no jagged edges) for a 3rd grade Prairie Day activity. If you are doing any cooking with canned goods in the next couple of weeks, she would greatly appreciate it if you would save them for our 3rd graders! You can drop them off anytime between now and October 10th.
