News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School
May 22, 2018
Dear Families,

What a week we have had so far! On Monday, so many of our students were recognized for their academic achievements including honor roll, Accelerated Reader program, Texas Bluebonnet Awards, Spelling Bee, Geography Bee, Essay Contests and more! Additionally, we had the opportunity to applaud our 8th graders as they received accolades honoring their efforts over the duration of their years at Saint Andrew. Even our athletic accomplishments were celebrated --- including our amazing runners in Running Club (who have collectively run the distance to Anchorage, Alaska since the start of this school year). Today, our 5th graders visited the Civil War Museum. Our 7th graders spent the day touring Fort Worth. And our 8th graders celebrated the end of their time at Saint Andrew with a fun day at Glenrose where they swam, climbed rock walls, zip-lined and much more. We are so grateful to have these opportunities for our students to be together, to celebrate our accomplishments and our friendships knowing that all of this is possible through the grace of God and because you made the choice to send your children to Saint Andrew Catholic School. Thank you!

Only by His Grace,
Veronica D. Tucker

ICE CREAM FUNDRAISER
SAFE & SACRED

The Diocese of Fort Worth requires all adults who volunteer at our school to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check, complete Safe & Sacred (Safe Environment) training, and agree to the Code of Conduct every three years. Currently the process is done online.

The online program  will end on June 10th. It will be replaced by New, Live Awareness Courses which will be offered in a classroom style setting beginning in September, 2018 and will be required every 2 years.

Everyone who volunteers at the parish or school must have this training. If you plan on volunteering this coming school year for field trips, class parties, Fall Festival, etc. please consider taking the initial class or renewing online by June 10th or you can go to one of the LIVE sessions beginning in September.  (If you have recently renewed online, you do not have to do anything!)

Please email  Lisa Harrington to begin the process.

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer!!

GREAT NEWS!

SAS has collected $41, 500 from the Fund a Project at the auction to replace all of add new interactive whiteboard monitors in the classrooms.  The money earned so far will replace one hallway of classrooms.  The school is stepping up to do the other hallway.  But we still need to replace the 7th and 8th grade classes.

We have a very generous anonymous donor who will give $5000 if we can match this $5000 gift.  Please click here to make a donation or send a check to the office in an envelope marked fund a project. It will be great to install new monitors in every classroom this summer.  THANK YOU  for always being the best of parents and grandparents!
