Happy Feast of Saint Francis!
Today we have celebrated Saint Francis, the founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Third Order Regular, who lead our parish and school. During morning prayer, we learned how Saint Francis was the son of a wealthy cloth merchant and chose not to follow in his father's footsteps and enter the world of business. Instead, Francis went to battle and was taken prisoner for a year. We learned about Francis' visions and consequent vow of poverty. Francis eventually received approval for his religious order, the Franciscan Order. He also helped Clare of Assisi start her order. As a school, we prayed the Prayer of Saint Francis together. At the close of the day, all students received animal crackers to celebrate this patron saint of nature and animals. We are so grateful for the influence of Saint Francis of Assisi on Saint Andrew Catholic School!

IMPORTANT FALL FESTIVAL REMINDERS
|

- Please click here to sign up for your required two hour shift on Sunday at the Festival.
- Wildcat tattoos will be available for sale, in front of the school, from Wednesday, October 5th - Friday, October 7th, before and after school. These can be worn to the Pep Rally on Friday and to the Fall Festival on Sunday.
- Pre-Sale tickets will be available for sale, in front of the school, from Wednesday, October 5th - Friday, October 7th, before and after school.
$10.00 = 20 tickets plus 2 free tickets = $11.00 worth of tickets
$25.00 = 50 tickets plus 10 free tickets = $30.00 worth of tickets
$50.00 = 100 tickets plus 15 free tickets = $57.50 worth of tickets
$100.00 = 200 tickets plus 25 free tickets = $112.50 worth of tickets
- Don't forget to turn in your Raffle tickets!! There is still time!! If you buy 3 tickets, you will receive 2 Los Vaqueros lunches and if you buy 6 tickets, you will receive 4 lunches. The lunches (brisket tacos, beans, rice, chips and salsa and tea) will be served in the gym on Sunday.
- If you purchase your raffle tickets by Thursday, your child will receive a popsicle on Friday.
- Your child will be eligible to be Out of Uniform on Tuesday, October 11th, with the purchase of Raffle tickets!
- Be sure to visit the Drive for Kids booth from 12:00pm - 3:00pm. Bring your driver's license and take a short drive. This raises a lot of money for our school!

ANNUAL FUND PERKS FOR FALL FESTIVAL
|
|
If you make a pledge of $1800 or above, by Friday, October 7th, to the SAS Annual Fund you will receive (FREE) on the day of the Fall Festival:
* $50 in Fall Festival booth tickets and
* 2 RESERVED Fall Festival parking passes.
You also receive a FREE reserved table for 10 at the Auction Dinner Gala on April 30, 2017 at River Ranch Northside. This is our only fun filled and exciting SAS parent social event of the year!

LUNCH/DINNER OUT SAVE THE DATE

Saint Andrew is teaming up with Mama's Pizza for lunch and dinner out on Wednesday, October 26th at the Berry, Camp Bowie and Bryant Irvin locations. Mention SAS and our school will receive 20% of your ticket.

Join the Women of Saint Andrew on Thursday
, October 20, at 6:30pm in the Parish Hall, for a fun evening of crafting, dinner, drinks and fellowship!

MEN'S SUNDAY NIGHT BASKETBALL
|
Calling all SAS Alumni and SAS Dads!
Come out and join us for some fun (and slightly competitive!) basketball on Sunday evenings from 7:00pm - 9:00pm in the Saint Andrew School gym.
It's a good way to stay fit and to meet some great guys. You must be high school age or older to play.

Your Saint Andrew Council of the Knights of Columbus invites all PRO BASKETBALI FANS to attend the Dallas Mavericks Faith and Family Night.
