Dear Families,
Happy Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe! On this day, we remember the humble life of Juan Diego who encountered the Virgin Mary on the site of a former Aztec Temple in Mexico. He is given the charge to appear before the Bishop and request a temple be built at that very site so she can hear the petitions of her people in Mexico. To combat the Bishop's doubts, Our Lady sends Juan Diego with beautiful roses which had never grown in Mexico before and certainly not in the cold month of December. As he releases the roses, a beautiful image of Mary is visible on his tilma, or cloak. On campus today, we assembled to hear again this beautiful story and reflect on the application to our lives today. We learned that faith can move mountains (or build a church where a pagan temple one stood), that all are valuable and beloved in the eyes of God (including each one of us) and that miracles can happen for those who believe (such as roses growing in a field in December). As we continue through the Season of Advent, let us remember our focus on the coming of the Christ Child, and all those who have gone before us in faith, such as Juan Diego, to prepare the way.
Our Lady of Guadalupe had this to say to Juan Diego:
"I am your merciful mother, the merciful mother of all of you who live united in this land, and of all mankind, of all those who love me, of those who cry to me, of those who seek me, of those who have confidence in me."
Only by His Grace,
Veronica D. Tucker

It is that time of year... runny noses, sore throats, coughs, congestion- you name it the kids have it
. We just have a few reminders for you, to help your kids be their best.
1.
Encourage frequent hand washing, or use of hand sanitizer.
2.
Cough drops are allowed at school, but MUST be in the original
package, and kept in the clinic and MUST be accompanied by a parent note.
3.
Please remind your children to cover their mouths and noses when they cough or sneeze, it is a good way to help prevent the spread of germs.
4.
Chapstick is permitted at school, and can be kept with your child. Please remind them not to share with other students.
5. Not sure if it is a Cold or the Flu? Here are some helpful hints, although the only true way to know is with a flu test from your doctor.
