News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School
November 1, 2016
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Families,

Blessings to each of you on this All Saints Day! The list of reasons why I love being a part of Catholic schools is extensive. One of the top reasons are days like today. This day honoring all the Saints, those known and those unknown, is one of our church's six Holy Days of Obligation (in addition to every Sunday). This day is one of the upmost importance to our church and this was recognized today at our school. The history of this day was discussed in our morning prayers, all religion classes, and most importantly, we came together as a school family and celebrated Mass honoring these holy men and women who have gone before us providing us with examples of how "ordinary" people can become "extraordinary" saints. One of my favorite songs is the Litany of the Saints. Hearing your children sing along to this hymn, which included many of their own names, was very moving.

Thank you for sending your students, your saints-in-the-making, to Saint Andrew Catholic School.

Only By His Grace,
Veronica Tucker

SAINT ANDREW HOLIDAY OUTREACH

The holidays are just around the corner and we are busy collecting items for our Saint Andrew Holiday Outreach. Last year, our school worked very hard to fill 170 Holiday Boxes with non-perishable food items for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for Saint Andrew Catholic Church and School families in need.  Each homeroom is recommended to fill 1 "Big Box" and 2 "Small Boxes."  You should be receiving information from your homeroom coordinator soon, if you haven't already, about how your class will collect the food.

If you or your family would like to fill a box or two, a supply of e mpty boxes with food lists attached can be found in the office.  Please click here for the list of items needed to fill the boxes.
