THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thanks to everyone who helped at the Masses over Catholic Schools Week weekend, helped hand out ice cream to our students, gave tours during our Prospective Families Open House, attended our Family Open House & Italian Dinner, and bought books at the Book Fair. A special thank you to all of our grandparents who visited our campus on Friday. What a great week!!!

VALENTINE'S DAY GRAMS

You still have time to purchase Saint Valentine grams for your children! 

When:
Before & after school all week

Where: 
 In the hallway near the clinic

How much:
Candy gram - 50 cents
Small gift gram - $1
Stuffed animal gram - $2

The grams will be delivered to the classrooms on Tuesday, the 13th because Valentine's day lands on Ash Wednesday.
FINANCIAL AID
Financial aid is available for students entering Kindergarten - 8th grade from the Diocesan Scholarship Fund and Saint Andrew Catholic School based upon need. To apply for financial aid please submit the FACTS Financial Aid Application form by March 1.

FROM THE NURSES' DESK

Dear Parents,
 
Due to an increase in stomach viruses across the Fort Worth Catholic Diocese this semester there have been a few changes to the health guidelines.  These changes were sent to us from The office of Catholic Schools and are enforced through out the diocese.  
Diarrhea is now added to the list of exclusion guidelines. Meaning your child MUST be diarrhea free for 24 hours, with out the use of diarrhea suppressing medications, before returning to school.  Diarrhea is 3 or more episodes of loose stools in 24-hour period. 
         
We have included the full list of exclusion and return guidelines for a reminder.  As always if you have any questions you can call or email us anytime.

Exclusion Guidelines
Return to School Guidelines
Oral temperature 100 ° F or above
Fever free for 24 hours (with out the use of fever reducers)
Vomiting, Nausea or severe abdominal pain
Symptom free for 24 hours
Marked drowsiness, Malaise or lethargy
Symptom free
Sore throat, acute cold or persistent cough
Symptom free
Red, inflamed or discharging eyes
Written physician release
Wound, skin and soft tissue infections
Exclude until drainage is contained and covered with a clean, dry bandage
Swollen glands around jaws, ears or neck
Written physician release
Suspected scabies or Impetigo
Written physician release
Any skin lesion in the weeping stage
Covered and diagnosed as non-infectious
Earache
Symptom free
Head Lice
Lice and Nit free
(must be cleared by school nurse before returning to classroom)
Diarrhea:  Diarrhea is 3 or more episodes of loose stool in 24 hours
Diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of diarrhea suppressing medication. 
Other symptoms suggestive of acute illness
Written physician release

ROSA'S CAFE FUNDRAISER
Thank you to everyone who enjoyed a dinner out at Rosa's Cafe. Saint Andrew Catholic School will be receiving a check for $400.00 from the 15% in store fundraiser.

SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT

Church doors will close for our weekly Mass beginning at 9:10 am. They will unlock again at 10:00 am. This is just another safety precaution. If entering the church after the 9:10 am time, please come to the front doors of the church and someone will be stationed there to let you in.

NOLAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

Nolan Catholic is now accepting applications for the 2018-2010 school year.     

The application is on-line on our website at  www.nolancatholichs.org .  The Apply Today button is on the home page.




SAFE & SACRED

The Diocese of Fort Worth requires all adults who volunteer at our school to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check, complete Safe & Sacred (Safe Environment) training, and agree to the Code of Conduct every three years. Currently the process is done online. 

If you would like to drive on a field trip, volunteer in the classroom, help at a class party, help at the Fall Festival, etc., please email  Lisa Harrington to begin the process. 

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer!!

Tom Thumb Good Neighbor Program - last quarter SAS received $633.62 from the Tom Thumb Good Neighbor Program! All you have to do is link your Reward Card to the SAS Good Neighbor number. You only have to do this one time! To link your card to Saint Andrew, fill out the attached form and turn it at the store. The Saint Andrew Good Neighbor Number is: 661.

Kroger Community Rewards - Link your Kroger Reward card to SAS online at  www.kroger.com. Just login to your account or create an account and link to SAS in the Community Rewards section. Our name is listed as St. Andrew's Catholic School and our organization number is 80223. You must link your card each year.

AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING SCHEDULE FOR 2017-2018

New this year: tutoring will begin at 3:10pm and end at 3:40pm.  Please pick up your child from tutoring at the main entrance of the school no later than 3:40pm.
