News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School
March 20, 2018
Dear Families,

Happy Fourth Quarter! This is that time of year that sneaks up every March when we have our eyes on the finish line of May 30th while also looking towards the next academic year and planning ahead. For your students, that may mean new uniforms, transitioning to a new hallway, a move to high school, or more. For me, that means working on the calendar, interviewing teachers and planning all end-of-year activities. Many of you have asked about the start date for next year. While we must have our calendar approved by the diocese, our tentative start date is Monday, August 13th. Much like this past year, that will be a noon dismissal day. When additional dates are confirmed and approved, they will be sent to you. Thank you, in advance, for your help in making this fourth quarter the best yet.

Only by His Grace,
Veronica D. Tucker

COME MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY

This spring, we will elect 3 new members  to the Saint Andrew Catholic School Advisory Council, one representative from the Parish and two representatives from the school. Please review the  Requirements for School Nominees  and prayerfully consider what talents and perspectives you can share as a member of the Advisory Council.

If you are interested in sharing your time and talents with our school, please complete the  Advisory Council Nomination Questionnaire by March 23rd. If you would like more information about the responsibilities of an advisory council member, please email Barbara Clark.

ADVISORY COUNCIL SPRING FORUM
CHRISM MASS
On March 27th  at 5:30 pm, our diocese will celebrate the Chrism Mass at Saint Patrick Cathedral. At this Mass, the bishop blesses three oils - the oil of catechumens (oleum catechumenorum  or oleum sanctorum ), the oil of the infirm (oleum infirmorum ) and holy chrism (sacrum chrisma ). These are the chrisms that will be used in the administration of the sacraments throughout the diocese for the upcoming year. This is a beautiful celebration for your children to witness. For this reason, we would like to have a group of students present representing Saint Andrew. We need to submit numbers to the diocese for how many students may attend. Please e-mail Veronica Tucker by March 20th  if your family is able to make arrangements to attend.
