Thanksgiving Break
Monday, November 21 - Friday, November 25
News for the Parents of Saint Andrew Catholic School
November 15, 2016
FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families,

Thanksgiving is in the air! Turkeys are posted (see Mr. Llewellyn's letter below), Social Ministry Outreach boxes are sealed, weather is thinking about getting a little cooler, prayers of thanksgiving are being shared and the countdown to 3:10pm on Friday has begun! I wanted to take this moment to thank each of you. I am thankful for each of the students you drop off in the morning. I am thankful for the way you respond through acts of charity, donations and words of support. And I am thankful to be working in partnership with you to form these very intelligent, faith-filled, service-oriented leaders of tomorrow. I pray that you have a wonderful, relaxing and rejuvenating Thanksgiving Break!

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." (Colossians 3:17)

Only By His Grace,
Veronica Tucker

FROM THE PRESIDENT - TRADITION
This week, we will deliver the Holiday Outreach boxes to the food pantry.  This has been a wonderful tradition for the school that benefits so many people.  Another tradition that benefits turkeys would be the artistic skills of our Pre-K students.  Students are given an outline picture of a turkey with the instruction to disguise the turkey so it can make it through the Thanksgiving holiday and live to gobble another day.  We thank our students for rescuing these turkeys!

As a school, we are very thankful to our families for all of your support this year.  We are rapidly approaching Advent and the coming of our Savior.  Be safe over the break and enjoy your Thanksgiving traditions.

In His Service,

Charles Llewellyn
President

ADVENT TREES

Every year, our school donates items such as socks, hats, gloves, underwear and fleece blankets to Social Ministries which is now called Food Pantry Outreach.  They then give these items to families in need.  Many of the families will use the items as Christmas presents.

While you are out shopping over the Thanksgiving break please consider buying some of these items to donate to this great cause.  They are in need of boys and girls items size 12 and under.   The Advent trees will be in the front foyer when you return from Thanksgiving break and we will collect items until December 13th.

This Thanksgiving, let us be thankful for all the blessings in our lives and help us to be a blessing to others!

Thank you to the following Girl Scout troops for donating the trees!
