DEADLINE TO PROVIDE LCAP FEEDBACK ONLINE IS FEBRUARY 16

To capture the voice of all stakeholders, the District is requesting the public's participation in a brief survey to help determine how effective SAUSD is in achieving its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) goals. The survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete, and all information is anonymous. The survey will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through February 16, 2018. To take it, click here. Please share your input into this new phase of LCAP.
UPDATED SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT CARDS AVAILABLE ONLINE

The District this week has uploaded new School Accountability Report Cards (SARCs) to the District website. SARCs are available on the District's public and internal webpages, along with their translations in Spanish and Vietnamese (as determined by schools' language demographics). The SARC is intended to provide parents and community members with a quick snapshot of information related to individual public schools. Data covers a range of topics, including school finances, facilities, curriculum and instructional materials. For additional information about the school, parents and community members should review the entire SARC or contact the school principal or the district office. Printed copies are available upon request. To view the updated SARCs, click here.

WILSON SCHOLARS
ON THE PATHWAY
TO FINANCIAL LITERACY

Junior Achievement (JA) - a nationwide non-profit organization that provides vital financial literacy education to students in K-12 - recently visited Wilson Elementary School and brought with it 22 employees from Union and Commerce West Banks, who became teachers for the day. Through interactive lessons, using JA's K-5th grade curriculum, young students assumed the role of consumers and workers within their families, community, and the world during "JA Day". The specialized instruction will work to prepare students for secondary and lifelong learning. "I learned, on this day, that it is important to have a goal, work hard, and not give up," said Julio Luiz Sanchez, a 5th grade Associated Student Body classroom representative. "I believe that I can make my goals happen. I am considering becoming a teacher or a doctor or an author."
