The National Small Business Association (NSBA) is the nation's oldest non-partisan small business advocacy organization. Over 75 years ago SBANE and several other small business organizations across the country helped create NSBA to establish a permanent Washington presence for small business advocacy. NSBA is a partner organization to SBANE, and through this partnership NSBA serves as an external government affairs resource for SBANE members on the federal level.
NSBA works with SBANE and other small business organizations across the nation to develop and pursue an agenda that furthers the interests of entrepreneurship and small business ownership. Just as SBANE represents members' interests here in New England, NSBA represents your interests in Washington.
SBANE has a long history of high level participation in NSBA. Past SBANE Chair Larry Nannis recently served as the Chair of NSBA's Board of Trustees, as have a number of past SBANE Chairs before Larry. The current NSBA Board of Trustees includes three recent members of SBANE's Board of Directors as well as SBANE's present Chair (yes, yours truly).
If you want to have some level of participation in (or simply follow) the actions of the federal government as they affect small business, I encourage you to activate your NSBA membership. Please know that as an SBANE member you are entitled to the benefits of NSBA membership at no extra cost. You will have access to all NSBA benefits, including (1) receiving the Weekly Advocate, containing NSBA's updates and political analysis, (2) use of NSBA's online Action Center, where you can engage with elected officials on issues, (3) participation in monthly telephone conferences held by NSBA's various issues committees, and (4) attendance at NSBA's high level events in Washington, which typically include presentations by Members of Congress and administrative officials. I am looking forward to NSBA's 2015 Washington Presentation on June 1-2.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the SBANE-NSBA partnership. Also, information concerning our affiliation with NSBA is available under the Members tab on SBANE's website.
