The Board debated at length whether passing a high school assessment should continue to be required to earn a diploma. There was a robust discussion about assessments as exit exams, and the board will continue to discuss this topic at the January meeting in Tumwater. The Board adopted legislative priority to advocate for alternatives for students who are initially unsuccessful at exit exams.

  2. Date Changes for the 2017-2018 Board Meeting Dates and Locations
  3. Date and Location Change for the September 14-16, 2016 Meeting
  4. 2015-2016 SBE Legislative Priorities
  5. 2015 School District BEA Compliance Report
  6. Letter to Governor Jay Inslee on Budget Priorities for the Supplemental Budget
  7. Temporary Waiver of Graduation Requirements for Naches Valley School District, Washougal School District and Entiat School District
  8. A process to explore additional issues to inform the Board's strategic plan
The Board tabled an item:
  1. A joint legislative priority with the Professional Educator Standards Board: Align Educator Compensation Systems with New Credentialing Policies and Address Teacher Shortages
