Join us this Friday, April 28 for the 2017 Spring Games Opening Ceremonies, our official kick-off to a full week of competitive track and field events. The event will take place at the iconic Soldier Field, the location of the inaugural Special Olympics Games 49 years ago, beginning at 10am with the Parade of Athletes.
Congratulations to Southside Occupational High School who will be awarded the Keith Magnuson Spirit Award as well as Chicago Park District Superintendent & CEO, Mike Kelly, who will receive the Anne McGlone Burke Award for his ongoing support of our program. We're also thrilled to have former Chicago Cub pitcher, Sean Marshall, join us as this year's Honorary Coach and look forward to our athletes h
aving the opportunity to see the World Series trophy as part of our parade!

Admission and parking are free.
All are welcome to also cheer on our athletes at the actual Spring Games Track & Field events at Eckersall Stadum May 1-5. Events will include, among others: distance races ranging from 50 - 1500 meters, standing long jump, walk races, and the pentathlon. The week will also feature wheelchair events: races of varying distances, shot put, slalom, and softball and tennis ball throw.
