Website & Newsletter Redesign

SCMR is excited to announce our redesigned website and newsletter. The primary objectives of the redesigns  were focused on aesthetics, simplifying our content, and increasing the visibility of our programs. The new design also allows for streamlined menus, clear navigation, and a responsive layout for all platforms. A special thank you to the SCMR Communication Committee for their assistance.

New Resource - Why CMR

The mission of SCMR is to  improve cardiovascular health by advancing the field of CMR. To achieve our mission, SCMR has complied a list of resources demonstrating the areas where CMR has distinct advantages. The page is broken down into four categories: Accuracy, Prognosis, Noninvasive Procedures, and Safety. These pages are meant to be shared with other healthcare providers, patients, payers, and others to spread the word on CMR.  We encourage all members to also use the #WhyCMR via twitter when promoting CMR. Together we will advance the field of CMR.

ACC Imaging Council

Thank you to past President, Victor Ferrari and former Board member, Tim Albert for representing the CMR community on the ACC Imaging Council. Vic is rotating off as the Chair after two successful years of leadership. Current Executive Committee member, Subha Raman, has joined the council and will represent SCMR.

Case of the Week
A Left Ventricular Pseudoaneurysm Before and After Surgical Correction

A 71 year old female was seen at the outpatient clinic with complaints of exertional dyspnea. Her medical history noted an inferior myocardial infarction 2 years earlier, for which primary percutaneous coronary intervention of the right coronary artery (RCA) was performed. This procedure had been compromised by cardiac tamponade, thought to have been caused by perforation of the RCA through wire exit. A subxyphoidal drainage was performed removing 300ml of blood and thrombi, after which patient was treated conservatively
