Hoover Middle School Participates in Bike Safety Curriculum
Nearly 160+   Brevard Public Schools (official) ' Hoover Middle School students participated in the bicycle safety education program, in which they learned new skills and the rules of the road - as a cyclist.

To teach this program, local schools partner with the TPO to rent a trailer of bikes and helmets for weeks at a time, free of charge, to implement the curriculum.

The students practice hands-on techniques and certified PE teachers, such as Hoover's Coach Brenda Sadowski, lead the program at the school level.  The students not only learn new skills but also learn the ins and outs of bicycle laws.

TPO's Lisa Hickman Receives Laying Asphalt Award
Office Specialist, Lisa Hickman , received the TPO's Laying Asphalt Award for her extensive work in streamlining board and committee administrative tasks that require an extreme amount of attention to detail.

Within the last year, Hickman has refined the process of compiling board and committee member’s agenda packages. She has learned to adjust to last minute changes and her efforts are reflected in the fact that meeting minutes are approved without any significant changes or errors in them.

The agenda packages are what our members review and having them professionally prepared and transmitted not only reflects well on Ms. Hickman, but on all TPO staff. Congrats, Lisa! Thank you for your continued hard work.
