Awards for Achievements in 2016
As we near the end of 2016, the Lethbridge Sport Council is preparing to recognize the outstanding achievments of local athletes in 2016.   Nominations will open November 1st, 2016, and will close January 31st, 2017.  Categories include:  Athletic Performance (junior, senior, master, athlete with a disability, Special Olympic, team and partner), Sport Excellence (coaching, officiating, volunteering), Leadership (individual and organization), Spirit in Sport (youth and adult), Corporate (business and sport)
Board Development Event
A collaborative team has formed to organize affordable and accessible learning opportunities for board members and staff of not-for-profits, based on successful models out of Edmonton, Calgary and Medicine Hat. We hope to present the first Board Leadership Event in Lethbridge in 2017, and would like your feedback to ensure the event will meet the needs of local organizations.

Aspiring Writer?
The Lethbridge Sport Council is currently accepting applications via the SCiP program for a writer to assist with an upcoming project.  If you are a post-secondary student interested in applying for this internship valued at $1000, please see the posting on the SCiP website.

Spectator Events
Help us connect spectators to events in 2017.  Sport organizations are encouraged to post their games, tournaments, special events, competitions, meets and matches on our 2017 Sport Calendar.  Spectators can visit the site to find events and activities to watch!

Did you know it's Canada's 150th next year? To celebrate, Lethbridge Sport Council is planning  #yqlchallenge , 150 things to do in 2017. To help us create the list, we would love to hear some of your favourite activities! It could be anything!

Did you know, according to a 2016 survey, 91.4% of Albertans feel organized sport is important but only 23.3% of adults have participated in an organized sport in the past year.  To see the full details of the survey, which included info about Arts, Culture, Volunteerism, Heritage, Sport, Recreation and Community, click the link below.

Roving Gyms in Lethbridge
"Roving Gyms" offer a free indoor play space for parents and caregivers of preschool aged children.  This program will encourage physical literacy and allow families to connect with other families while children have a great time playing!  Visit the LEYC website for schedule and sign up information

Sport for Life Leaders School 2017
Sport for Life Leaders School 2017 (SLS 2017)  is open for registration! P articipants will plan, launch and lead individual community projects, guided and mentored by members of the Sport for Life Leadership Group. SLS is a unique opportunity to explore and discuss new ideas and share expertise.  The SLS is open to anyone with the desire and ability to become a Sport for Life Leader.
