Recital Costumes on Display!

A recital costume book has been created and placed on display at the front desk.  Families and dancers may come up and look at this book at any time.  The recital costume book must remain at SDC.

Special Subs for January!

In lieu of waiting for Baby Lohoff, Brigid decided to wait until after Ruxin arrives to take over Lindsey's Monday Technique classes.  She has set up some incredible subs, Master Teachers and Guest Teachers to come work with our dancers.  Here is the awesome line up and schedule for January's subs!

Monday January 5th & 12th -

3:30-4:30 Jazz Tech 6 and 4:30-5:30 Jazz Tech 5/6A- A specialty Yoga Tune Up Master Class with Aaron Porter.  We have purchased the Yoga tune up balls for all dancers in these classes.  The dancers will learn the techniques and ways that they can use these travel size foams balls to help roll out their tired fatigued muscles.  This will be a great way to prevent injury and get them ready for competitions!

Monday, January 19th- 3:30- 5:30 Angelica Stiskin will be back in town to teach a 2 hour master class with levels 5/6A & 6  (Level 6 Acro will be cancelled this day)  All dancers enrolled in these classes are welcome to take.

Rhinestone Season!!

We are still working on the rhinestone order so as soon as stones are available, you will be contacted.

For all GROUP dances, one costume is selected to be the "sample" A teacher will stone the costume and hang it up at SDC for display. Parents you may come into SDC to photograph, sketch or record the pattern on the costume. These sample costumes are NOT ALLOWED to leave the studio. If your costume was selected as the "Sample" please bring your costume on a hanger with all accessories asap (No earrings, or shoes necessary). Please have your dancer's name on EVERY piece of the costume. Here is the list of the sample costumes.

Parents you may rhinestone costumes on your own and match the patterns or you may pay someone $40 per costume to stone for you. (Sample costume fee is divided and paid for by the group within your costume tier price). There are several teachers and parents who can rhinestone and are willing to take on some more!

For all Solos, Duets, and trios...it is up to the parent to create their own pattern for the costume. They may ask teachers for advice or guidance.  They may even pay someone else to come up with a design completely.

Students of the Month!

Alexis Minae

Alexis Minae is our competition team student of the month. She gives everything she can in class. Not only is she hardworking, but she is also very respectful to her teachers. Alexis is not afraid to push herself outside her comfort zone and try new things. She really focuses on making herself better in every style and the proof is in her tremendous improvement. Congrats Alexis on a great year!

Claire Krier

Claire comes to class every week full of joy and is ready to receive as much information as possible.  She is always on task and ready to work hard each week. Claire is always the first tot to put her hand up when questions are asked of the class and she is ready to answer.  She is a pleasure to teach and I thank her for all her hard work.  I am so excited and can't wait to see how much you grow as a dancer this year!  Keep up the good work.
