SDWP LogoSan Diego Works
Funding job training programs since 1974

Earlier this week, on behalf of SDWP, I shared a message of gratitude to our veterans, calling attention to their employment needs. I shared the story of Luis Salvatierra, a Navy veteran who took advantage of veteran-focused services provided at the South Metro Career Center, and was quickly hired as an IT specialist. If you missed the commentary in The Daily Transcript, read it here.

We are making progress, but as a region, we can and must do more. There are thousands of talented veterans and non-veterans alike who are ready to add value to employers throughout the county right now. At SDWP we are continuously working to identify and implement workforce programs that help all job seekers find meaningful employment in their career of choice.

In the spirit of November's theme of giving thanks, I want to thank those who are working alongside SDWP in our mission to empower job seekers to meet the current and future workforce needs of employers in San Diego County -- the SDWP staff and board members who are so dedicated to our work and our funded partners who meet with job seekers every day to guide them on their path to employment.

Peter Callstrom

Sincerely,

Peter Callstrom

President & CEO
