Funding job training programs since 1974.

This week, our nation honored the great men and women who have served in the armed forces. We are eternally grateful for their service to our country. Veteran's day also served as a reminder that we need to do everything we can for our veterans by offering supportive services, training programs and meaningful jobs and careers.

I was fortunate to be in Washington, D.C. on November 6. The U.S. Department of Labor held a 'Salute to Veterans' highlighting individual service as well as making a clear call to action to our business community. A panel discussion was also held that emphasized that hiring veterans is good for business. Veterans make some of the best employees thanks to their diverse skills and experiences. The least we can do for those have honorably served our country is to hire these talented individuals.

With the help of our community partners, we are spreading the word about workforce development and the importance of job training programs in our region. Check out the stories below. From celebrating our summer successes, to spreading the word about services offered by the Career Center Network, we are working hard to build a skilled workforce here in San Diego.
