As summer draws to a close so did our summer season with last weekend's successful final performances of Seeing Red: A Time-Traveling Musical! in Santa Cruz last weekend.

The show was met with great enthusiasm and served up an essential measure of hope and reverence for those historical figures who were not afraid to stand strong and together in their quest for a just and equitable society. After all many were immigrants who came to this country believing what the Constitution promised and were prepared to hold it to its word. And it's that kind of inspiration we all need right now as we as we wrestle the current off-the-rails government and put it back in the hands of the people who can continue this great experiment of forging a more perfect union.

As we set up and strike each show  over the summer (check out the Mime Troupe Workout) we are motivated to invigorate our audiences with the spirit of revolution and engagement. However, each year the cost of doing free shows grows because of the necessary permits and services required. We are committed to our annual season of free shows but we can't do it without your continuing support, especially since we do not take corporate funding!

If you would like to donate to help defray the expenses that linger long after the applause, please do so at bottom of this email.

Next year is our 60th, we are coming up with some great ways to celebrate, and you can join in now by entering our 60th logo contest or applying to be our  Individual Giving & Communications Consultant (see below).

60th Logo Design Contest!

~ Kids, parents, grandparents, fans of all ages ~
This is your chance to design our 60th anniversary logo!

If you have an idea, or an artistic vision of a logo for our 60th we would love to see it!  Professional, amateur, teacher, student, even those who are still wearing their SFMT onesie!

We want to see the art, and how our art inspires you!

Make your design a family affair, get the whole community involved, whip out a sketch pad behind the barricades, or in the privacy of where ever you call home.

We are looking for a small but scalable logo that incorporates our name, a red star, and whatever else you feel moved to include based your love of the Troupe.

Please email your design to: [email protected]

If we decide to use your art as our official logo we will contact you, we will let you know if we want to use your design for any special events. We hope to have a winning design by the beginning of December 2018.

The Plays of the San Francisco Mime Troupe

The never silent, hilariously thought-provoking,Tony and OBIE award-winning San Francisco Mime Troupe, in celebration of our 60 years of revolutionary theatre has put together an anthology of our scripts from 2000 - 2016. From the War on Terror to the War on Drugs, from genetically modified foods to financially modified democracy, from corporate personhood to Occupy to Trump - the Troupe has dealt with the issues of the day with our particular brand of outrageous, hard-hitting political musical comedies, tragedies, farces, and melodramas. Speaking truth to power, giving voice to the voiceless, comforting the afflicted, afflicting the comfortable, this collection of scripts is being provided - including introductions to the plays, photos, fan quotes, and artists biographies - at price every fan, supporter, student, historian, and comrade of the Troupe can afford... FREE!
