Eliza Gibson, LCSW, serves as Executive Director for Clinic by the Bay. She is a licensed clinical social worker with more than fifteen years of experience developing and managing programs, as well as providing direct mental health and supportive services to youth, adults, and families nationally and internationally. Prior to leading the start-up and organizational growth of Clinic by the Bay, she established a Medi-Cal funded mental health program for youth involved in the juvenile justice system and their families. She was also the Chief of Programs at Larkin Street Youth Services, providing strategic planning, program development, evaluation, and oversight to a full continuum of housing, health, and support services for homeless youth.  Eliza received her undergraduate degree in Music and Literature from Pitzer College and her Master of Social Work from Smith College. Eliza was recently selected to participate in California Healthcare Foundation's Health Care Leadership program, a two year part-time fellowship.

Clinic by the Bay

Clinic by the Bay is a volunteer-powered free health clinic for the working uninsured. As one of 96 Volunteers in Medicine clinics across the country (and the first and only in Northern California), the clinic engages retired and practicing doctors, dentists, nurses, and nonmedical volunteers to provide compassionate, high quality health care, free of charge. Above all, Clinic by the Bay is about "neighbor helping neighbor" and is 100% privately supported. The clinic does not rely on government funding and does not accept any insurance. Today, Clinic by the Bay engages 125 medical and nonmedical volunteers who contribute directly to the care and wellbeing of nearly 1,500 working uninsured neighbors. Learn more at

The San Francisco Interfaith Council invites faith leaders and their congregants to join in the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebrations to be held on Monday, January 20, 2014 at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens.

Interfaith activities will include the 4th annual interfaith tribute to the Selma-to-Montgomery march and symbolic crossing of the Edmund Pettis Bridge. The tribute will take place during the annual March/Parade as it crosses San Francisco's Lefty O'Doul Bridge and briefly stops at Willie Mays Plaza at AT & T Park.  The 2014 March/ Parade will begin promptly at 11:00 am (arrive early) from the Caltrain Depot at 4th and Townsend.

Once the March/Parade arrives at Yerba Buena Gardens, the 4th Annual Interfaith Commemoration Ceremony will commence.  Spiritual leaders from a host of faith traditions will offer prayers remembering both the vision and sacrifice of Dr. King.

A host of other activities and programs that will take place to mark the occasion may be found on the San Francisco Interfaith Council partner organization's website:
