SFIS Robotics Club compete and defend their title at RoboRAVE @ ABQ Convention Center - Presenters include SFIS Alumnus (Class of 2002) - George Gorospe, NASA Ames Research Scientist

Senior End of Year field trip. Seniors and their grade level team will be on a fun outing to celebrate the end of the year.

SFIS Track & Field qualifiers compete at NMAA State Track & Field Meet at UNM Soccer complex.

SFIS Japan Cultural Exchange will be selling small craft items and shirts at the Santa Fe Japanese Festival at Santa Fe Community Convention Center, 9:30am-5pm. Fundraiser for Japan trip, July 2018.
NEWS FOR WEEK OF 5/11 to 5/19
On Thursday, May 10 - Middle School and High School students celebrated a year of Health and Wellness with fun activities. Students enjoyed a day of water slides, zorb ball track, snow cones, and a salsa competition. H&W classes were held Thursdays 2pm – 3:30 pm. H&W curriculum is based on improving overall student wellness. We provide classes such as capoeira, team-building, substance abuse prevention, creative writing, bike class, relaxation, making positive choices, stress relief, and physical activities. - SFIS Student Living Department
Century Bank honored SFIS students Dominik Morning Dove and Iesha Pacheco at a banquet. Each student invited a teacher who inspired him or her: Beth Cammarata inspired Iesha, and Dominik recognized Carlene Carey. The May 20 edition of The New Mexican will feature pictures and accounts of the evening's festivities.

COLLEGE & SUMMER PROGRAM INFORMATION
Applications are now available for the Board of Trustees Scholarship and the Francis Abeyta Memorial Alumni Scholarship at http://www.sfis.k12.nm.us/news/detail/sfis-scholarships
The purpose of the Santa Fe Indian School Scholarships is to provide funding to Santa Fe Indian School graduating seniors and alumni pursuing a post-secondary course of study at either an accredited college/university or established vocational institution.

Criteria for the Board of Trustee Scholarship:
·        Applicant must be a Santa Fe Indian School 2018 Graduating Senior
·        Applicant is accepted to an accredited college/university or an established vocational institution    
·        Applicant is attending full-time (12 credit hours or above) beginning the 2018-2019 School Year
·        Applicant has a current GPA of 3.0 or above

 Criteria for the Francis Abeyta Memorial Alumni Scholarship:
·        Applicant must be a Santa Fe Indian School Alumnus
·        Applicant is attending an accredited college/university or an established vocational institution    
·        Applicant is attending full-time (12 credit hours or above)
·        Applicant has a current GPA of 3.0 or above

Deadline: S cholarship applications are due by Friday, June 15, 2018 (no exceptions). Applications postmarked after this date and/or incomplete applications will not be considered. CNM Summer Dual Credit
The CNM Summer dual credit program is offering courses in Pre-architecture and drafting; office administration and business analytics. Contact [email protected]

Santa Fe's 14th Japan Cultural Festival will be held Saturday, May 19 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center near the Santa Fe Plaza. It's a family day featuring stage performances and activities in the court yard reminiscent of the festivals of Japan. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for children under 12.
