As the leadership of SGS continues to consider its in-person annual meeting and conference, the determination has been made to make conference content more widely accessible via a virtual conference to be held online from April 20 to April 23, 2021. SGS recognizes that this pandemic has created challenges for so many but is still devoted to making sure we continue to engage in meaningful educational and networking activities. The SGS Gerontological Education committee has been engaged and active in constructing this online conference and would like to invite you to submit your proposals for presentations.
All proposals must be submitted using the online submission form. The SGS Gerontological Education committee will begin reviewing newly submitted proposals for conference presentations beginning on January 25th. The deadline for submission is January 22, 2021. Final selections will be made by February 5, 2021. For those who had submitted content and were accepted for presentations in the 2020 Call for Abstracts, you do not need to resubmit any items but are encouraged to revisit your abstract submission (ExOrdo) dashboard to review and update your previous submissions. There are no fees or requirements to be an SGS member to submit a proposal or to be accepted to present.
Presentation Formats
Once accepted for this virtual conference, presenters will be contacted by our program committee to work towards uploading presentations in pre-recorded format. The pre-recorded content will be accessible to conference registrants prior to the start of the actual conference. The SGS virtual conference will be conducted Tuesday through Friday with a schedule that is filled with numerous networking opportunities, exceptional keynote sessions and panel presentations, our annual SGS Business Meeting, the engaging and delightful Awards Celebration, and more. SGS is proud to be featuring the Barbara Payne lecture, and special collaborations with Sigma Phi Omega and the Carework Network. Presenters who have submitted pre-recorded content will be featured in sessions designed to encourage conversations and interactivity.
