AWARD-WINNING
SHADOWS OF THE LYNCHING
TREE

Join us for a SECOND SCREENING of Carvin Eison's film Shadows of the Lynching Tree, co-sponsored by the Community Race Relations Coalition, the Department of Film and Digital Media at Baylor University and the Waco NAACP, on Thursday, March 17, 6:30m in Room 101 in the Castellaw Building on the Baylor campus.  This event is free and open to the public.  It is suggested that you park in the parking garage at Dutton and University Parks and we will have guides to help you get to the Castellaw building,
which is not far away.

Mr. Eison first screened this film for the first time in Waco in March of 2012, to a full house and a standing ovation.  He returns with his film as part of many activities planned in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the lynching of Jesse Washington.  The film features a handful of Waco citizens and has a thread of the Jesse Washington lynching running through it.  Entertainment Editor Carl Hoover of the Waco Trib reviewed it and did a comprehensive piece on it in 2012, which can be seen at this link:
