Due to an explosion of interest over the past few years in mobile vending, and mobile food vending specifically, the City has been receiving an increasing number of complaints (mainly from mobile food vendors, but also from brick-and-mortar restaurants/retailers, city residents, and workers) concerning the conduct of various mobile vendors, cleanliness, noise/air pollution, uncivil behavior, refusal to follow City ordinances, and lack of insurance/health permit. The two pedestrian counters located at the Chapel-High intersection and 96 Orange Street in Downtown New Haven have counted 2,012,656 visitors as of July 31, 2016.

From July 4, 2016 to July 31, 2016 the total count of visitors was 264,827. The busiest day in the month was Friday, July 22 with 12,343 visitors.  Click here for the full monthly report.

Grand Prix
The New Haven Grand Prix is scheduled for Friday, September 16th, 2016. Last year 15,000 spectators came to witness what has become the city's most anticipated late summer event. Don't miss your chance to be a part of it in 2016.

Town Green District and Apizza & Eats Feast are working with Chapel and College Merchants to facilitate activation within the festival or on the business site.  Any College St. or Chapel St. business that participates in the Grand Prix will not pay a vendor fee (other permitting fees may apply).  Town Green is also contributing some tables and chairs for booth set ups.
