This warm Connecticut spirit was most apparent when I stepped into the Happiness Lab, "New Haven's coffee house dedicated to happiness," where founder Vishal Patel and President Onyeka Obiocha aim to build a community where people can spend time getting to know each other.  They showed me a deeper side to retail - the side that has the ability to change lives, one cup of coffee at a time.

Just a short walk across the Yale University campus, we were greeted by idiom owner Kimberly Pedrick. She always wanted to open up her own store and Connecticut made it possible for her.
