Look Who's Turning 40
Congratulations to Claire's Corner Copia, 1000 Chapel Street, which turns 40 on Thursday, September 17. Since 1975, Claire's has served organic and sustainable vegetarian foods representing cuisines of the world.

Rubies signify a 40th anniversary, so the color will flow through smoothies and other delightful treats. A special anniversary seal will adorn Claire's cookbooks.  Stop by and join in the celebration and ribbon cutting hosted by Yale University Properties.

K2
Critically acclaimed Chef Herry Darbi celebrates the Grand Opening of K2 on Saturday, September 12 at six o'clock in the evening. The new restaurant is located at 27 Temple Street. The festivities include small plates, entrees, sushi and cocktails.

Bridal Trousseau
There's a new bridal shop in town. Bridal Trousseau has moved to 77 Audubon Street from its Branford location.

Now under new ownership, the business debuted at Fashion On9 (the September first Friday event in Ninth Square) with a preview of the latest in Bridal Style! Bridal, Bridesmaids, Evening Gowns, Accessories, & Tuxedos were showcased while complimentary wine & charcuterie enjoyed.

This warm Connecticut spirit was most apparent when I stepped into the Happiness Lab, "New Haven's coffee house dedicated to happiness," where founder Vishal Patel and President Onyeka Obiocha aim to build a community where people can spend time getting to know each other.  They showed me a deeper side to retail - the side that has the ability to change lives, one cup of coffee at a time.

Just a short walk across the Yale University campus, we were greeted by idiom owner Kimberly Pedrick. She always wanted to open up her own store and Connecticut made it possible for her. Her favorite part of the job is being in the store, meeting all of her customers and eventually becoming friends with them. Read More
