Our
Little Girl is Growing Up!

I think the last time you saw our darling
daughter Emma, she was flying through the air (on our green
screen).
Here she is (with her mom) frolicking for
a few moments at Dillon Beach in August:

- Our large Studioe has
been a work in progress for the two years we've been at our X
Street location, but this summer we made great progress when we
built a 20-foot tall wall across the back of it. The wall helps
dampen sound from the back alley, allowing for better audio during
shoots. The good news is we kept the ability to drive cars and
bring large equipment in!

Shout out to interns!
----This summer we had the pleasure of working with intern Cameron Lockwood. Cameron worked
tirelessly, every day, to help us out. We couldn't have survived
the summer without him! He is now living in southern California
working on a degree in a film from Long Beach State.
----We also had the pleasure of working with Ashley McGraw from Atlanta, GA.
She worked with us for the month of July and was such a pleasure!
She is currently a senior at Elon University in North Carolina and
is studying Media Arts and Entertainment.

Hello
Friends!
It's been quite a while since we've sent out an e-newsletter
and it's been a busy 7 months...
2010 is looking to be our busiest year ever, which is great news in
what is supposed to be a "slump" in the economy. We're hoping that
our business continues to grow and flourish, so keep calling us and
sending over the referrals!
The most exciting project we've worked on this year is the
production of our first feature-length documentary, Death or Taxes: The Sad Truth About the American
Taxation System. Since March, we've been working with
the Executive Producer and her fabulous team - check out below to
learn more!
Check out some of our other recent projects:
- Sierra Clinical
Research:This is a 30-second television
commercial highlighting a local research study. We worked with
Fuse Media and filmed this spot at Salmon Creek Beach in Bodega
Bay. It was a cold morning but James filmed some beautiful
scenes!
- American River College - Culinary
Program: The ARC Culinary
Program is looking to expand and decided that a video would boost
its capital campaign efforts. We interviewed students and teachers
to help tell the compelling story of this award-winning college
program!

Death or Taxes: The Sad
Truth About Our American Taxation System
Feature-Length
Documentary out this Fall!
There's more to our tax system than you may think!
Over the past 7 months, SIMZ Productions has had the pleasure of
working with Executive Producer Roni Deutch and her team to produce
a feature-length documentary about our American taxation system.
You can view the trailer by visiting the movie's website, www.deathortaxes.com.
What's it about? Here's a quick synopsis:
A man flying a plane into an IRS
building and a family eagerly awaiting their tax refund check share
a common bond. They are both victims of our destructive tax system.
At one end of the spectrum you have the hopelessness and depression
that afflicts those taxpayers who struggle with tax debt; at the
other end are the deluded, nave people who wait with joyful
exuberance for the government to give them back their own money. At
the heart of it all are two truths: our tax system is broken, and
it has a body count.
Death or Taxes explores the
horrifying realities faced by the millions of taxpayers who owe
back taxes. Every day good, honest people are forced to make
terrible decisions: pay the rent, or pay the IRS? Put food on the
table, or make your tax payment? Facing these awful situations,
some people are pushed beyond the point of hope, into the last
decision they'll ever make.
It's been an amazing 7 months - traveling from coast to coast and
interviewing families who have compelling stories about what has
happened to them. We'll be entering the film into a number of
festivals, so stay tuned for updates! Follow the documentary

Client: Bonney Plumbing
Check out the Bonney
Plumbing TV spots here!
We've had the opportunity this past quarter to develop a great
working relationship with advertising agency Ward Associates Advertising and local plumbing
company Bonney Plumbing.
For anyone who has grown up in Sacramento
or lived here the past 20 years, you are probably
familiar with the smiling faces of Mark and Candace
Bonney!
So
far, we've had the pleasure of producing two major TV concepts with
the team - one a play on a cheasy TV talk show and one a
play on the Dating Game. Featured in both
concepts is our spirited host, local actor Rafael Siegel. He
brings a great energy to the set and is a pleasure to be around!
Look for the latest set of spots, The Match Game, on local and
cable television stations!
