Student Dismissal Policy

Early dismissal for students can be very disruptive to the class. Early Dismissals are requested to be scheduled at the beginning of the last period.
No student will be dismissed between 2:00 pm and 2:45 pm.
Please refer to the Parent/Student handbook, page 15.

Conference Request

I f you have a concern, please contact the teacher and then if further discussion is needed, contact the main office to request to speak with the assistant principal. If the issue is still not resolved, request a meeting with the principal via the main office.

St Joan of Arc School collects Box Tops and we need your help and participation.
Please clip your Box Tops,
turn them into the front office in an envelope or zip lock bag with your child's name and room number
clearly written on them.
We have a special Dress Down Day twice a year for all students who
turn in at least 25 Box Tops each time.
The next Dress Down Day will be Tuesday, December 5th.
The turn in deadline is
Friday, November 17th,
so collect them and get them turned in. 
The coordinator is Mrs. Caronia.

the Polo Club in Boca Raton.

Ergotron iPad Lock Boxes
The Ergotron Lock boxes give SJA the ability to lock, charge and secure
16 iPads at a time.
SJA has deployed lock boxes in most of our classrooms.
 We are in need of three more.
We are asking for your contribution to purchase them.
The price for each one is $ 3,700.00.
 The 2017-2018 goal is to be 1:1 iPads 1st through 8th grade and a class set in the media center. 
With your help, we can achieve this goal. We have the iPad's, we need to lock boxes to securely deploy them.

"Extended Day Pick Up"
Parents, please use the entrance
west of the Sports Arena leading to the Gazebo to pick up your child from Extended Day Program. 
Please do not enter via the Palm Court.
In keeping with our Thanksgiving tradition, we are having
a food drive for the Poor.
We are collecting $1.00 toward turkey purchases and also the following items;
Cheerios, oatmeal, canned fruit, canned pasta, canned Vienna sausage, canned vegetables, canned stews, dried beans, powdered milk, jelly, popcorn, and small canned juices.

Please bring this items to your homeroom on Monday, November 13th, or Tuesday, November 14th.

On November 9th, the 7th grade class visited St. John Paul II Academy
for Preview Day.
Students watched a sneak peek
of the fall production, "Higher Power."
Afterward, students were led on campus tours given by
SJA alumni and current SJPII students. Before lunch, students competed in the Academic Brain Bowl against other schools and came in 2nd place!
It was a fun and informative day!
Virtus Teaching Safety Lessons for Students in Grades K-8 
All parishes and schools are required to provide safe environment training to each child, yearly, in every grade in their schools, religious education programs, and youth ministries.
As promulgated by Bishop Barbarito, the following programs have been approved for use in the Diocese of Palm Beach and meet the criteria for compliance with child safe environment education: VIRTUS Teaching Safety, integrated with NCMEC’s Netsmartz and Kidsmartz programs. It is critical that we educate our children and young people regarding their personal safety. Age-appropriate information shall be provided to all children and youth involved in Catholic Schools, Parish Religious Education and Youth Ministry Programs in the diocese. Two lessons will be conducted and taught by your child's homeroom or religion teacher from grades K-8. The Diocese of Palm Beach, has implemented this security system to all the schools in our Diocese, for visitors, volunteers and contractors/vendors to utilize.
Parent volunteer should wear BOTH thei r:

1) St. Joan ID badge lanyard and
2) the Raptor system lanyard.

Parent volunteers, visitors and contractors/vendors need to sign-in via Raptor system, located in the main office.
Parents who are volunteering will need their driver’s license.

Parent volunteers must wear the additional lanyard that says “volunteer” attached to the clear sleeve that has his/her Raptor sticker in it when volunteering at the school.
