Arrival in the Morning

The building will open for students at 8:15AM. For safety reasons, no student may be dropped off before 8:15AM. Thank you.

We do offer an Extended Care Program starting at 7:00am if students need to be dropped off at school earlier. Students must sign up for this in advance. Thank you.

Safety at Dismissal

Parents are reminded to meet the car riders and walkers in the school parking lot, unless you are parked on Broad St. on the same side as the school. The front of the school needs to be clear at dismissal for the designated spots for bus riders. In the past, we have had some students running out of their lines to meet their parents. Some parents and students have crossed in the middle of Broad Street. Both of these create unsafe situations. Please go to the corner so the crossing guard can safely cross the children. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please Help Saint Jerome Regional School Keep Tuition Cost Affordable!
Throughout the year you will be receiving information about the various fundraisers through the school and the Home and School Association. The reason we have fundraisers is to keep tuition costs down. The actual cost of education of each child in our school is over $5000.00. As you know, tuition is much less than this. The fundraisers help us make Catholic Education available to more children.
We do not have mandatory fundraising at Saint Jerome Regional School because it is our hope that every family will do everything possible to support our efforts, not because they must, but because they want to participate and because they care about the future of this school. Thanks for joining the effort for the sake of our children!

October Missions Project

The goal of educating children at St. Jerome Regional Catholic School is to provide an environment that allows our students to build a relationship with Jesus. One important way we achieve this goal is to teach our students how to see Jesus in all people and give them opportunities to serve others in need through mission projects throughout the school year.

Last year we had a very successful mission project helping homeless vets in our area by supporting Paul’s House. This year we are asking for your help again to aid our vets. On October 22 at a church in Lansford in conjunction with St. Joseph Church St. Vincent DePaul Society there will be a “Stand Down”, a place where homeless vets can get a hot meal and a chance to “shop “ for necessities such as food, toiletries and clothing.

Items needed include:

Food - cans of tuna and salmon, 6 pack small cans of fruit, plastic containers of peanut butter, meat based soups with vegetables, canned Dinty Moore beef stew, 6 packs of V8 fruit or vegetable juices

Clothing – socks, underwear, hats, gloves, scarves

Hygiene- soap, body wash, shampoo, razors, shaving cream, feminine hygiene products, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, combs, deodorant ( men & women), foot powder, nail care, hand sanitizer

Any item that you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Please send all donations to school by October 18th. Thank you!

May God bless the SJRS community as we work together to love and serve others as Jesus did.

REMINDERS:

There is a 1:00 dismissal on Friday, October 6th.

There is NO SCHOOL on Monday, October 9th .

A letter was sent home regarding conferences. Please complete and return that form to your child's teacher as soon as possible. Progress Reports will be sent home on October 11th and parents will have an opportunity to discuss their child/ children’s progress with the teachers after reviewing the progress reports.

The Halloween Parade for grades K-8 is scheduled for October 31st at 1:45 in the parking lot. (If it is raining, or there is inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled). Classroom parties will take place immediately following the parade in each of the classrooms. Students may wear their Halloween costumes that day, or they can dress in Black and Orange Dress Down Clothing. No weapons of any kind are permitted. Please be sure that the costumes are appropriate.

The faculty, staff and administration ask for your continued prayers, support, cooperation and dedication to Catholic education. If you have any questions or concerns, you can call the school office at 570-668-2757. We will be happy to help you! Thank you for being part of the SJRS Family!
