River Crossing Project Call To Artists

The cities of West Sacramento and Sacramento, represented by the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, a division of the Sacramento Convention and Cultural Services Department, invites Artists and Artist teams to submit their qualifications and a short preliminary written proposal (250 word maximum) for a temporary public art or place-making opportunity to promote connectivity across the Sacramento River, “River Crossing Project”.

The public art /placemaking is intended to infuse downtown neighborhoods with new vitality and promote pedestrian, bicycle, and streetcar pathways linking mixed-use development in the Washington District of West Sacramento with entertainment, employment, and recreation in downtown
Sacramento.
Public Art RFQ - California Air Resources Board

The Southern California Consolidation Project for the California Air Resource Board (CARB) is an approximately 400,000 square-foot facility on a 19-acre campus located in Riverside, CA.

The campus is one of the world’s largest and most advanced emissions testing and research facilities and consolidates five existing locations into one state-of-the-art facility. The campus, under the design-build team of ZGF, Hensel Phelps (HP), and Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI), is the largest true zero net energy facility of its type and has the highest sustainability goals including Zero Net Energy, LEED Platinum, CALGreen Tier 2, and Zero Carbon.

The Public Art Program is developed and managed by Dyson & Womack.

Art Farm: Call To Artist

YoloArts invites Northern California artists to participate in the 11th annual Art Farm Exhibition & Gala (juried and non-juried). These events raise awareness and funds for the YoloArts Art & Ag Project and Yolo Farm to Fork and The Yolo Land Trust.
The Art & Ag Project connects artists with Yolo County farmers and provides the community a unique glimpse into the two worlds of artistic expression and agriculture.

SMAC Staff Visits the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum

This month SMAC staff visited the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum to view local art collection and participate in the mural tour. This tour guided by Shonna McDaniels, who founded the museum in 1996. To learn more about the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum, click here .
