Please remember that our Free Dress Mondays ended on January 29. School uniforms must be worn on all Mondays going forward.
Family Night 
Wednesday, February 14
Ash Wednesday

Wednesday, February 14 is Ash Wednesday and has been designated as a SMM Family Night. All school, parish, and athletic activities that begin at 6:00 p.m., or after, will be suspended for this night so that families may focus on time together. Masses at SMM will be at 8:15 a.m., noon and 7:00 p.m.
Jr. High Governor's Cup

Congrats to the following Jr. High students for placing in the Governor's Cup Regional on Saturday, February 3. These students will move on to compete in the State competition at the Galt House the weekend of March 17.

Archdiocese Spelling Bee 

Congratulations to our SMM Spelling Bee Winner Annie Pilbean (5F) who went on to compete in the archdiocese spelling bee on Tuesday, February 6. Annie represented SMM proudly and tied for 6th place! Way to go, Annie!
Basketball Mustangs in CSAA Finals
 
Two Mustang basketball teams are playing Sunday at Trinity High School in the CSAA Finals.
 
8B3 Green (Gapen) plays Sacred Heart Model School at 1 p.m.
 
6B1 (Boeckmann) plays Holy Trinity at 3 p.m.
 
Several other teams are still alive in their own tournament divisions.

On Tuesday, February 13, 2018 the following students will accompany  Joe Hamilton  to volunteer: Rachel Hamilton, Caroline Arno, and Katie Chambers.

The upcoming observances of National Marriage Week and World Marriage Day are opportunities to focus on building a culture of life and love by supporting and promoting marriage and the family!
News for Mrs. Sims
         
It has been a busy and productive week at St. Margaret Mary School.  The teachers and students have returned from Winter Break with a renewed commitment to learning and working as a team. We continue to focus on kindness and empathy. We are also gearing up for Lent which begins on Feb. 14 th . Please join us for mass that morning.
            
The staff and SAC are evaluating survey data from the AdvancEd surveys that went out last April and the Catholic Identity surveys that took place this fall. We are looking at trends and common themes so that we can celebrate our successes and set goals for improvement. St. Margaret Mary School remains a community focused on continuous improvement.

School Advisory Council (SAC) Nominations
Deadline - Thursday, Feb. 15
 
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is currently accepting nominations for new members. New members will be elected by school families. The primary purpose of the SAC shall be to give guidance and advice to the Pastor and Principal. The SAC will consider the interest of all parents, students, and faculty. 

The term for a SAC member is three years. Nominations will be accepted through Thursday, February 15th.

  • March 2 (Grades 3&6) 3 on 3 basketball tourney will be in PAC for 5/7/8th grade students.
  • March 9 (Grades 4&5)  DJ in PAC with games! 
All parents of school children are asked to volunteer on the date(s) assigned to your child(ren)'s grade  (noted in green above)  
If you cannot assist that day, please sign up for an alternate day.

Looking for Prayer Sponsors 
We are looking for parishioners to pray for retreatants for the upcoming Christ Renews His Parish Retreats this February and March.  One of the main goals of the retreat is to increase prayer within our parish.
