In support of SMM alumnus Davey Albright, a current sophomore at Trinity, we would appreciate your support of his family during this very difficult time. He was involved in a serious accident last Friday, August 31. To help his family with expenses, we are offering a free dress day in exchange for a monetary cash or check  donation. Checks should be written to Jennifer Albright.

Twisted Pink!

As a part of the  Give Local Louisville, we are asking our SMM school community to M ake Pink Matter.

The mission of Twisted Pink is to extend lives and improve quality of life for late stage breast cancer patients and their families by funding metastatic (stage IV) breast cancer research.  
Since June 2014, Twisted Pink has donated a total of $423,374.36 to metastatic breast cancer (MBC) research.

Sophie & Nell Rydzewski, SMM class of 2016 and current juniors at Sacred Heart Academy recently scored a perfect 1600 and 1590, respectively, on the SAT. In the summer of 2017, they each scored a perfect 36 on the ACT, as well!  Click here f or more information.

Order forms were sent home last week. The forms are to be  returned on the day that your child will have their picture made. 

On the day your child will have their portrait made, they are allowed to be in Free Dress clothes, however the  students cannot wear spaghetti strap shirts or tank tops, and   everyone must be in closed-toed shoes wearing socks or tights. If your student has PE on picture day, please be sure to send in tennis shoes.

As the order form states, pictures may be ordered online, but a printed copy of your order/receipt MUST be sent in on picture day. 

If your child was absent on the first day of pictures, please plan to have them have their picture taken on Friday, September 14.

M2M Kick Off Gathering

We are revamping the Mother 2 Mother group and would love for you to join us! This year we will be organizing moms' night outs, group fitness classes, playdates, and much more. Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts

The K-5 students will participate in student recruitment sessions on Tuesday morning, September 11. The Boys will meet with Boys Scouts to learn more about Cub Scouts. Girls will be able to choose if they would like to attend the Cub Scout Meeting or the Girl Scout meeting. ( Girls can now be a part of an all female Cub Scout Den.)  Flyers were sent home in today's Friday Folders explaining the two organizations. 

Informational parent meetings for both organizations will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13. 
  • Boy Scouts - meet in the Cafeteria. 
  • Girl Scouts - meet in the Library KIVA.
     The doors by the parish office will be open.

Chick Fil A has notified our PTO that they have revised their marketing strategy and Spirit Days were eliminated in the process. Please stay tuned as the PTO looks at other options for them to partner with for fundraising. Suggestions? Please contact Karen Thompson at  karenmthompson@outlook.com
SMM Spirit Wear

Thank you to everyone who purchased items at the Meet the Teachers event a couple of weeks ago. If you ordered an item at the event they are being processed, and we expect to have them soon. Your total will be text/emailed to you by our Spirit Wear Chair, Carolyn Tilton. Please make all checks payable to SMM PTO and send to Graycen Tilton in 4G. Items will go home in your child's backpack once payment is received.

Volunteering?
Background Checks & Honor Thy Children/Safe Environment Training

Volunteers who have contact with children or youth (18 and under) for ANY length of time are required to participate in one of the 2-hour Safe Environment Training Workshops and undergo a background check.  This includes field trip chaperones, room parents, Field Day volunteers, Pioneer Day volunteers, etc. There is no cost.
