PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Hello SNAAZ Friends!
The beautiful Fall weather is approaching and the excitement of the Holiday’s will soon be here!  It’s a time of rejuvenation, joy and fellowship.  As the SNAAZ family, let us take the time to extend gratitude to our fellow members for making a difference in their communities, each and every day. To each of you, let me shake your hand, give you a high five and a big standing ovation for being committed to our mission and the service of our youth. I THANK YOU for all you do!
What an amazing start we had to this year at SNAAZ! Our 61 st Annual State Conference was a record breaker with 570 attendees all getting into the groove and “Tuning in to SNAAZ”!  Did you hear that Karen Moore from Shamrock Foods earned a “Gold Record” as she was honored as the 2017 Industry Member of the Year? Karen is so very deserving as she has tirelessly supported the students in Arizona in many roles, and never lets our mission fail. Mandy Gotchie from Yuma Chapter was named the recipient of the Paula Barletta Scholarship and wrote such a heartfelt message on what SNAAZ means to her and how she hopes to learn and grow by attending ANC 2018 in Las Vegas, NV.  Congratulations Mandy! It was certainly an honor to have our SNA President, Dr. Lynn Harvey, join us in the fun and share in our SNAAZ spirit! Dave Weber wowed the crowd with his message and especially his energy and enthusiasm! And of course, our Industry out did themselves with their generous support and by putting on a fabulous food show!
Our Sonoran Desert Chapter is officially formed with the Installation of Officers taking place at the Conference. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have our Southern part of the State represented by such an amazing group of people.  Please join me in supporting this newly established Chapter and sharing your knowledge, time and love with each of them. Their first meeting will be December 7 th , so feel free to join in on the fun!
As you al may have heard, we will be holding a special election for the newly vacant Vice President position as our officers were moved up the ladder of succession due to the retirement of our President-Elect, Crystal Gray. Crystal has been a longtime supporter of SNAAZ and this decision was a difficult one for her to make. We wish Crystal all the joys retirement has to offer and thank her for her years of service!
As President, I happily look forward to a the last few months serving you and working together to make our organization stronger, better and one you all can be proud of. We are Arizona proud and strong!

Stay SNAAZy Friends!
