Full-Force Trans Am Sells at a Record Price!

Driving on to the bright stage of the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction last week was an exhilarating, crazy and nerve racking experience. Our Full-Force Trans Am received a lot of attention all week leading up to the auction, but when the sea of people split apart and your car pulls into the spotlight on that stage, it's go time. Especially knowing that a sale was imminent with our no-reserve auction.

Our Full-Force Trans Am set a record price for an '81 Trans Am at the Scottsdale, Barrett-Jackson Auction.

The bidding for our twin turbo T/A took right off and gave us a confidenence boost within the first 30-seconds that we hit the stage. Would-be buyers looked inside, over and under the car while the auctioneer did his work to keep the numbers moving upwards. When the gavel cracked on the podium, the winning bid was $92,500 - a record bid for a 1981 Pontiac Trans Am!

It is always tough to part with a project car that was so much fun to drive and garnered such attention. The marketing value for Schwartz Performance was priceless with two magazine covers and three features (including one in a French magazine!) along with winning the Popular Hot Rodding Muscle Car of the Year in '13. But it's time to let someone else enjoy the car and we're happy to see it go to an excited new owner. Plus, we get to start on the next project!
