Governor's Office Internship Program
The Governor's Office of Community Relations is seeking driven, hard-working individuals to join our internship program. Internships run concurrent with school semesters (Fall, Summer, Spring). A minimum of two days (6 hours per day, typically
10am-4pm) are required. During their time with our office, interns will, at a minimum:
  • Learn the basic functions of the roles of Regional Director and Constituencies Liaison within the Office of the Governor.
  • Assist staff with various projects and basic office tasks at the New Jersey State House.
  • Work closely with Governor's Office staff to organize and execute events with the Governor and Lt. Governor.
  • Conduct research on behalf of staff for proactive outreach, event planning, and briefing materials.

The Division of Strategy and Innovation at Newark Public Schools (NPS) is home to some of the district's most groundbreaking initiatives. These include the citywide Universal Enrollment system, which ensures greater equity in school enrollment for our highest-need students, as well as the district's Strategic Planning group. This year, the Division is expanding to include a new Office of Data, Research, and Evaluation which will focus on building the infrastructure and capacity to respond more proactively to the district's data and analytic needs, and develop research and evaluation projects. The Newark Public Schools Office of Strategy and Innovation is seeking data interns to assist the Enrollment and Data, Research, and Evaluation teams!
The Newark Thrives Data and Evaluation Fellow is responsible for outreach to programs for information, data collection, data entry, and support of analysis.

Important Announcement Regarding Online Courses in Spring 2017
Dear Student,
Spring 2017 courses are now live on the  University Schedule of Classes and Spring registration is scheduled to begin on October 30 th . You will see the following online courses on the schedule and they will indicate that they are only open to online MPA students. Online students will have priority registration until November 13 th . In the meantime, please email  Kiermoni Allison , the course name and the index number by November 13 th  to be added on the waiting list. Based on the enrollment numbers, if there are seats, we will issue SPNs to those on the waiting list.

Presidential Management Fellows Program (PMF)
Status of 2017 PMF Application and Assessment
The PMF Program Office is presently working on the upcoming PMF Class of 2017 application and assessment. The automated systems will be upgraded to  include the PMF TAS (Talent Acquisition System) and application. 

As details become available, the  Become a PMF 2017 Application section at will be updated to include the the News & Events section. The PMF Program Office  anticipate the 2017 PMF application to launch no earlier than November 2016. In the meantime, please review the Become a PMF section, which describes eligibility (to include topics on citizenship, foreign education, and veterans' preference), application tips, and frequently asked questions.
Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival
The countdown has begun for the largest poetry event in North America, held in Newark's Downtown Arts District! On College Student Days (Thursday, October 20 and Sunday, Oct. 23), student tickets are only $5

International Visiting Scholars Program
Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) provides opportunities for international scholars in public administration or related fields to pursue their research while in residence at Rutgers. International visiting scholars typically work on projects related to the research interests of SPAA faculty.

Looking to attend graduate school in the future?
GRE Prep Course

Rutgers Graduate School Newark (GSN) is proud to offer a comprehensive GRE preparation program through The Princeton Review for undergraduates specifically interested in applying to graduate school. The Princeton Review has been helping students across the country succeed in raising their scores on standardized exams through proven test-taking methods and breakthrough technology to accomplish extraordinary results.


GSN will subsidize the expense for approximately 15 students to take The Princeton Review Ultimate Prep Program. This program will be held from January 9th to March 3, 2017. Students enrolled in the program are required to take scheduled practice GRE exams during the semester and an official GRE exam approximately month after the course program concludes.



  • Sophomores, juniors, or seniors who will aspire to attend graduate school 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
