Graduation and Pi Alpha Alpha Membership
The Rutgers University - Newark graduation ceremony has been set for
May 17, 2017 at 9:00am in the Prudential Center. Students must apply for graduation by the deadlines below. 

Graduate Students:
To graduate in January, apply by November 1, 2016
To graduate in May, apply by March 1, 2017

Undergraduate Students:
To graduate in January, apply by October 15, 2016
To graduate in May, apply by February 15, 2017

To be inducted in to Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society, MPA and Ph.D. students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.85 and undergraduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5.

The Immigrant Policy Fellows will work under the supervision of Chia-Chia Wang, Organizing and Advocacy Director at American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) on the Language Access Project. The goal of the Language Access Project is to work with the City of Newark to adopt a language access policy to ensure LEP (Limited English Proficiency) immigrants can access the City, its services, and essential information without difficulty.
USAID Fellowship
USAID Research and Innovation Fellowships Program - South Africa
  • Opportunity for graduate students to conduct research and collaborate with NGOs and public officials
  • 8-10 week fellowship in South Africa during summer months - travel and living stipend included

Founded in 1964, the President's Commission on White House Fellowships is the nation's premiere program for leadership and public service. The White House Fellowship offers exceptional Americans first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the Federal government. After a competitive application process, selected individuals spend a year in Washington, DC working as a full-time, paid Fellow to Cabinet Secretaries, senior White House staff, and other top-ranking government officials. Fellows also participate in an education program consisting of roundtable discussions with renowned leaders from the private and public sectors. Fellowships are awarded on a strictly non-partisan basis.

APPLY NOW for the 2018 Eagleton Institute of Politics Undergraduate Associates Program
This interdisciplinary certificate program is open to junior undergraduate students from ALL Rutgers schools, departments and campuses - including transfer and international students.  Associates learn about real-world politics, public policy and government from experienced practitioners. Students selected for the program take a course at the Eagleton Institute during the second semester of their junior year and each semester of their senior year, as well and complete an internship in government or politics during the summer or fall of senior year.

Rutgers School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) provides opportunities for international scholars in public administration or related fields to pursue their research while in residence at Rutgers. The  Public Performance Measurement and Reporting Network (PPMRN)  is a web-based community that connects citizens, government officials, public and nonprofit managers, and academics who are dedicated to measuring, reporting, and improving public sector and nonprofit performance. Free membership provides access to a comprehensive database of resources including articles, reports, performance measures, books, manuals, websites, and training opportunities.

Rutgers SPAA Student Cassandra Arnold Selected as Columnist for PA Times Online

Rutgers SPAA MPA student Cassandra Arnold was recently selected as a  monthly columnist for PA Times Online, an electronic publication by the  American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) that highlights news,  trends, emerging research, and best practices in public administration and  management. Arnold's first article, "Inequity in the use of Digital Tools"  was released in July 2016, and her last article will be published at the  conclusion of her six-month term in December 2016.
