Faith and Thanksgiving
As we prepare for our national celebration of Thanksgiving, St. Paul reminds us frequently to give thanks above all to God: "And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him" (
St. Paul faculty, staff, and students gave thanks together on Tuesday, Nov. 22 during our annual candlelight Thanksgiving meal.
When we treat our time of table fellowship with reverence,
our meal becomes a "pre-Eucharistic" experience which prepares us for the ultimate thanksgiving, the Eucharistic Sacrifice of the Mass.
The word "Eucharist," referring to the Sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood, comes from the Greek word "eucharistia," which means thanksgiving.
All families are welcome to join us at our Thanksgiving Mass TOMORROW
Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church.
May our hearts overflow with thanksgiving for the gifts we receive around our tables at home and at the altar. May our unity in Christ bring strength and healing to all of our relationships.
Giving Tuesday first started in November of 2012.
With the post-Thanksgiving sales day, Black Friday and then the online version, Cyber Monday, charitable groups wanted to start a new holiday tradition - it's called Giving Tuesday.

*St. Paul's Haiti F
undraising Initiative Reaches
$50,000 during 50th Anniversary Year
In September 2011, St. Paul initiated a community-wide outreach effort to reach beyond ourselves in the true spirit of our faith to bring improved health and comfort to some of the poorest people in the western hemisphere.
We are thrilled to announce that we have now raised $50,009 during the last five years through student fundraisers, monthly Mass collections, coin jugs, etc. in support of this Haitian initiative.
Working with the Haitian Health Foundation, we have helped to build two concrete houses in the Makandal slum of Jeremie, Haiti. The last several years, we have assisted the hot lunch program for the nearly 1,000 students in grades K-9 at the St. Pierre School in Jeremie. Recently, $4,000 was sent to assist the relief efforts in the Jeremie area as a result of the devastation caused in October by Hurricane Matthew.
Several students, parents and alums have traveled
on life-changing summer mission trips with
Haiti 180 to volunteer at a local orphanage.
Thank you for your consideration!!!

St. Paul Alum, Caleigh Lozito '15 has released a Christmas CD. The CD will be available for purchase at our Light Up St. Paul event on December 2nd.
See below for Caleigh's story behind the making of this Christmas CD..
Hi, everyone! I am really excited to share with you all, that I have made a
Christmas CD and it is finally ready! The CD is titled, "A Time for Giving",
and there is a big meaning behind this title. This summer, I went on a
mission trip to Haiti. I stayed at the Kay Mari orphanage and met many
people who had a serious impact on my life. The Kay Mari orphanage, as
well as an elderly home and school for the children, was built by the
Haiti 180 foundation, started by Mr. Sean Forrest. After returning from my
trip, I felt that my mission was not over and there was still more I could do.
I had been planning on making a Christmas CD for a few years now and I
thought this would be the perfect opportunity. With that being said, all net
proceeds made from the sale of this CD, will be donated to the Haiti 180
foundation. The purchase price for this CD is $10.00 and would go a long
way in helping these people in need.
Thank you so much for your consideration!
Have a Wonderful Holiday Season!
