Terror
TERROR IN TEL AVIV

By now, we all know about the heinous terror attack that occurred last night (Wednesday) in Tel Aviv, murdering four Israelis and wounding more.

At the end of the AFSI Chizuk mission last night, several members of the group were dropped off at the airport to return to the States; others continued to Tel Aviv around the time of the attack.

This attack felt personal for AFSI travelers. After spending a week traveling around Israel, visiting beleaguered communities in the Shomron and meeting with longtime friends - the feeling of belonging to Am Yisrael was never stronger.

AFSI's Co-Executive Director, Judy Kadish, provides us with the following insights about the latest events:

There is an uproar about the terror attack in Tel Aviv - and there should be. But why, we ask, is it only "I am Tel Aviv" or "Je Suis Tel Aviv". The civilized world needs to wake up now and say "I am Israel"!

Terror is part of everyday life in Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley and Jerusalem. Attacks are being prevented many times daily by highly trained and equipped security people. On Tuesday, the AFSI mission was in Samaria (the northern "West Bank") visiting the community of Ateret. We saw their pinat cham, which is a resting place for weary soldiers to have a bit of coffee or other sustenance during their many hours of guard duty.

We met their Rav Shatz - the equivalent of the sheriff of the area, whose name is Yair, and our good friend Marc Prowisor, security expert and head of security projects for the One Israel Fund. As a former Rav Shatz of the Shiloh region in Samaria, Marc is an expert at assessing security needs and helping to fill them.

In Ateret, he had supplied the local security chief with a new and lighter bullet-proof vest to make it easier to jump in a vehicle and respond to an emergency, a portable thermal camera and other needed security and medical equipment. He also arranged to supply them with cameras - including thermal systems so that all through the day and night cameras could scan the region for potential attackers, and neutralize them before they have a chance to begin doing their damage.

Last night's attack happened right next to the Azrieli Center, the towers that have become a symbol of modern, high tech Tel Aviv. Reprehensibly, and as usual, the PA distributed candy to celebrate another victory for what must be called "the incitement intifada".

Israelis save lives;
"Palestinians" celebrate death

The Arabs who call themselves Palestinians want all of Israel; they consider it all "occupied" territory. And so they incite their youth by any means to carry out attacks against Jews.

But they are not going to get it - not one inch. By bringing the terror to a tourist area inside the "Tel Aviv bubble" and celebrating the deaths and injuries there, these terrorists just may have sounded a wake-up call.

Israel cannot be expected to negotiate a "two state solution" with known terrorists. In fact, Israel should not negotiate a "two-state solution" at all! Incidents like this should get the world to understand that this is the Middle East, where weakness is exploited. One such weakness was permitting the Arabs to build a huge apartment complex - actually a mini-city - called Rawabi, on land supposedly totally controlled by Jews in "Area C". From Ateret, you need only look across the valley to see this monstrosity with the Palestinian flag flying high alongside it. When Israel shows such weakness, it only emboldens the terrorists.

Rawabi - Apartment complex/city that is supposed to enable "Palestinians" to live like human beings and give up their dream of destroying Israel and killing all the Jews

Am Yisrael - the Jewish people - are the indigenous people of the entire Land of Israel, with roots going back to Biblical times, and with absolute and indisputable legal rights going back to the early 20th century. Israel is Jewish; it always was, and since this is the land G-d gave to the Jews, it always will be.

AM YISRAEL CHAI!
