About the Artist
Lilli has an affinity for the landscape in her native Texas but extends her interest to other landscapes and nature when she travels, including New England, the South and Southwest. After receiving her MA in Visual Arts at University of Houston at Clear Lake she continues to study with admired teachers in classes and workshops but retains her own interpretation of subjects and style.
Although landscapes and farm animals are her primary interest she also enjoys painting other challenging subjects, such as portraits and still life. She is in her twenty-fifth year of studying painting and knows this will be a lifetime endeavor, frustrating, fascinating and fantastic. The master paintings in museum exhibits and high resolution, online images provided by the great museums and others are wonderful sources. She enjoys teaching and finds it is a good way to keep her painting skills honed. (See contact info below for more information.)
Her influences have been Nicolai Fechin, Joaquin Sorrola and contemporary artists Richard Schmid, Scott Christensen, Ron Rencher and Kathryn Stats. Lilli's paintings are collected by individuals and corporations across the country and she has been described by collectors as having amazing skill at achieving beautiful light and color in her paintings.
After a hard fought battle with cancer during the last year, Lilli is returning full force into the world of art. Her plans are to continue painting, creating, and teaching--her sudents, who are many, welcome her with open arms.
A Note from Lilli
My wonderful friends in WVAL and Wimberley friends and neighbors,
Your kind words and presence during the last year have contributed greatly to the quality of my life during my recovery. It has been a humbling experience and I am very grateful. This year has reminded me of what is most important in life, and that is family and friends. My wish is to try to pay forward the many, many kindnesses I have received and I will need to stay quite busy to do that!
My love and heartfelt thanks to you all,
