Dan Schebler joins Santa Rosa County as assistant county administrator
Assistant County Administrator Dan Schebler greets Santa Rosa County Employee of the Year, Adrian Lowndes, as he tours county departments.
Dan Schebler joined Santa Rosa County in the new position of assistant county administrator on March 13. He formerly served as a deputy program director/project manager at the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment. He retired from active duty with the U.S. Navy in 2015 after 27 years, serving as a captain and naval flight officer.
Mr. Schebler was selected from a pool of more than 50 candidates. In his role, he will assist the county administrator in planning, developing and directing major programs and projects for the county. Additionally, his responsibilities will include carrying out directions, policies, orders, resolutions, ordinances and regulations of the board of county commissioners.
Mr. Schebler holds a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master's in national security strategy from the National War College. He is the recipient of several prestigious military awards for his performance and various tours of duty.
