Holiday Closures
All libraries will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.
 
Preschool Storytime
Storytime programs are presented for preschool children ages three through five and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Programs start promptly at the assigned times; latecomers are not admitted.
 
First timer? Visit the library to meet the storytime presenter, pick up a welcome packet, explore the children's area, and enjoy a tour of the library.
 
Storytime will be presented during the following times through July 13:
* 11 - 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library
* 11 - 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library and the Milton Library
* 11 - 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Gulf Breeze Library and the Pace Library

Summer Reading Programs through July 13
Libraries Rock!
Come to any of the  five Santa Rosa County Libraries in Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre and Pace  for a fun program! Read for 15 minutes per day between  June 1 and July 13 for great prizes. Register online or at your library. Pick up a reading calendar at your library or print one online from the program registration page. Bring your completed reading calendar to your library's last program or through July 31 to claim your prizes!
 
Programs for students who were in kindergarten through the 5th grades during the last school year will began June 4 and are held:
* 1 p.m. on Mondays at the Navarre Library
* 1 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Jay Library
* 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Pace Library
* 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
* 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
 
All activities are free and open to the public. Registration for programs is not required.
Presenters in the weekly library programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library, the Friends of the Milton Library, the Friends of the Navarre Library, and the Friends of the Pace Library. Please check the l ibrary website for additional details.
 
Refreshing Reads Book Club - Jay Library - 5259 Booker Ln.
July 3, 3 p.m.
Enjoy an uplifting book club where one can talk about books in a spirit of fun and sharing. Refreshing Reads meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Jay Library. See a staff person to sign up.  This month's selection is "The Heart Minder" by Andy Andrews.
 
The Illustriates Graphic Novel Book Club - Navarre Library - 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.
July 3, 3 p.m.
The club will meet on a special day and time this month due to the Independence Day holiday. Join us on July 3 at 3 p.m. as we discuss "Wires and Nerve" by Marissa Meyer. We will also watch "Spirited Away" (rated PG). Please speak with a staff member to sign up.
 
Coffee Talk Book Club - Gulf Breeze Library - 1060 Shoreline Dr.
July 10, 12 p.m.
The non-fiction book club meets on the second Tuesday of every other month for a brown bag lunch and book discussion. This month the book club is discussing "Mrs. Sherlock Holmes" by Brad Ricca. Registration is required.
 
The Inklings- Milton Library - 5541 Alabama St.
July 10, 5 p.m.
Sixth through 10th graders are invited to share their ideas about the book of the month. The Inklings Book Club meets the second Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Milton Library. This month's selection is "Wonder" by R.J. Palacio. Speak with a staff member to register.

Family Movie Mondays - Navarre Library - 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.
July 16, 3 p.m. 
Family movies will be shown the third Monday of every month at 3 p.m. This month, we'll watch the continuing adventures of Paddington and the Brown family (rated PG). Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Navarre Library.

July 17, 3-6 p.m.
Enjoy playing games? Bring games from home or play those provided by the library. All ages and game groups are welcome.
 
AniManga Club - Gulf Breeze Library - 1060 Shoreline Dr.
July 17, 4 - 6 p.m.
Join us on July 17 for a special two hour meeting as we watch Miguel journey to the Land of the Dead. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library.  The club is open to youth ages 11 - 17.

July 17, 4 p.m. 
Kids ages 6 - 11 are invited to play with and learn very basic coding to make a robot move, spin and dance. Space is limited; speak with a staff member to sign up.

The Blackwater Heritage State Trail presents their "Read with a Ranger" series. Topics covered include: July 18 - Recycling and July 25 - Junior Ranger. Speak with a staff member for more information.

July 18, 4 p.m. 
Join other local authors at the Navarre Library on the third Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. Topics of discussion will include everything from the writing process to how a new author can get published.
 
Coding Robotics for Kids: The Moving Robots! - Gulf Breeze Library - 1060 Shoreline Dr.
July 18, 5:30 p.m.
Kids ages 6 - 11 are invited to play with and learn very basic coding to make a robot move, spin and dance. Space is limited; see a staff member to register. Preference will be given to those who attended the "Robotics for Kids" program that was held in May, as this program builds off the concepts learned during that session.
 
Third Thursdays with Your County Master Gardener - Navarre Library - 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.
July 19, 11 a.m.
The county master gardeners will present a monthly series on a variety of interesting topics with solutions for your gardening life. This month's topic, "Roadside Wildflowers," will be presented by Suzanne Spencer.

The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Services presents "Become a 4-H Volunteer" by Prudence Caskey, UF/IFAS Extension Santa Rosa County 4-H agent, at the Gulf Breeze Library.
 
STEM Camp - Pace Library - 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.
July 24 & 31, 3 p.m.
STEM camp is for youth in grades K - 5. Listen to stories and music to gain inspiration to build and craft at the library. All supplies are provided. Registration is required; visit the library to register or to obtain additional information.
 
Graphic Novel Book Club - Milton Library - 5541 Alabama St. 
July 25, 4 p.m. 
The Graphic Novel Book Club will meet at a special time this month. We will be watching "A Wrinkle in Time" (rated PG) based on Madeleine L'Engle's book. If you did not read the graphic novel with us last year, copies will be available; there will not be discussion time this month, since this is a tie-in with the summer movies program.

Join the Fiction Fanatics for stimulating conversations about popular works of fiction, at 4 p.m. on the fourth Friday of every month (except May and November). This month's selection is "Look for Me" by Lisa Gardner. Speak to a staff member to reserve a copy.

Robotics and Tech for Tweens & Teens - Gulf Breeze Library - 1060 Shoreline Dr.

Tweens and teens ages 10-17 who are interested in robotics, coding, Arduino, virtual reality, and all things tech-related are invited to join us for an information session concerning forming a robotics and tech club. Come and be a founding member of a great new club. Beginners through expert level welcome!
 
Bibliobabblers Teen Book Club - Gulf Breeze Library - 1060 Shoreline Dr. 
July 31, 6 p.m. 
Ninth through 12th graders who are 14-18 years old can discuss the read-of-the-month with friends at the Gulf Breeze Library. Bibliobabblers meets at 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month. This month's book is "The Glass Sentence" by S.E. Grove.
