June is Audiobook Appreciation Month - All SRC Libraries
Celebrate Audiobook Appreciation Month by checking out a variety of audiobooks from any Santa Rosa County Library in Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre, and Pace.  The libraries offer books on cd, Playaways and eAudiobooks that you can download from rbDigital. There are hundreds of titles from which to choose.
 
Preschool Storytime
Storytime programs are presented for preschool children ages three through five and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Programs start promptly at the assigned times; latecomers are not admitted.

First timer? Visit the library to meet the storytime presenter, pick up a welcome packet, explore the children's area, and enjoy a tour of the library.
 
Storytime will be presented during the following times June 4 through July 13:
* 11 - 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library
* 11 - 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library and the Milton Library
* 11 - 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Gulf Breeze Library and the Pace Library

Summer Reading Programs through July 13
Libraries Rock!
Come to any of the five Santa Rosa County Libraries in Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre and Pace for a fun program! Read for 15 minutes per day between June 1 and July 13 for great prizes. You may register online or at your library. Pick up a reading calendar at your library or print one online from the program registration page. Bring your completed reading calendar to your library's last program or through July 31 to claim your prizes!
 
Programs for students who were in kindergarten through the 5th grades during the last school year will begin on June 4 and be held: 
* 1 p.m. on Mondays at the Navarre Library
* 1 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Jay Library
* 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Pace Library
* 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library
* 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library
 
All activities are free and open to the public.  Registration for programs is not required.
Presenters in the weekly library programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library, the Friends of the Milton Library, the Friends of the Navarre Library, and the Friends of the Pace Library. Please check the library website for additional details at www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries.
 
Summer Safety - Pace Library - 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.
June 4, 9:30 a.m.
Santa Rosa County Extension Agent, Chris Verlinde, will discuss summer safety, both in and out of the water, as well as creatures of the sea, and how to have fun this summer! Play an educational game and enjoy refreshments provided by the Friends of the Pace Library. This program is free and is intended for youth in kindergarten to 5th grade.
 
Refreshing Reads Book Club - Jay Library - 5259 Booker Ln.
June 4, 3 p.m.
Enjoy an uplifting book club where one can talk about books in a spirit of fun and sharing. Refreshing Reads meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Jay Library. See a staff person to sign up.  This month's selection is "The Remedy for Love" by Bill Roorbach.
 
The Illustriates Graphic Novel Book Club - Navarre Library - 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.
June 6, 4 p.m.
Sixth through 12th graders can join fellow graphic novel enthusiasts at the Navarre Library on the first Wednesday of each month  to discuss the book of the month. Members can suggest reading ideas, interests, and discuss the world of the graphic  novel. This month's selection is "Anya's Ghost" by Vera Brosgol. Speak with a staff member to sign up.
 
Book Chat - Pace Library - 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.
June 6, 4 p.m.  
One of the next best things to reading a good book is chatting about it. Join the conversation at the Pace Library on the first Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. This month's selection is "Crimes of the Father" by Thomas Keneally. Registration is required.
 
Page Turners - Gulf Breeze Library - 1060 Shoreline Dr.
June 8, 1 p.m.
The fiction book club meets at 1 p.m. on the second Friday of every other month for a brown bag lunch and book discussion. This month's selection is "Origin" by Dan Brown. There is a limit of 20 participants, so call or visit the library to sign up.
 
Meet the Authors - Pace Library - 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.
June 9, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Local authors Lori and Brendan O'Gara will visit the Pace Library on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. They will have copies of their books available for purchase and signing.
 
Friends of the Navarre Library Board Meeting - 8484 James M. Harvell Rd.
June 11, 10 a.m.

June 12, 5 p.m.
Sixth through 10th graders are invited to share their ideas about the book of the month. The Inklings Book Club meets the second Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m. at the Milton Library. This month's selection is "Wonder Woman: Warbringer" by Leigh Bardugo. Speak with a staff member to register.

The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Services presents "Wildlife in Your Landscape" by John Atkins UF/IFAS Extension Santa Rosa County Agriculture Agent, at the Gulf Breeze Library.

Enjoy playing games? Bring games from home or play those provided by the library. All ages and game groups are welcome.
 
AniManga Club - Gulf Breeze Library -  1060 Shoreline Dr.
June 19, 4 p.m.
Visit the Gulf Breeze Library on the third Tuesday of each month to learn and share graphic art skills in a fun environment. The AniManga Club is dedicated to the enjoyment and promotion of animation, cartooning, and related arts. The club is open to youth ages 11 - 17.

Join other local authors at the Navarre Library on the third Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. Topics of discussion will include everything from the writing process to how a new author can get published.

June 21, 11 a.m.
The county master gardeners will present a monthly series on a variety of interesting topics with solutions for your gardening life. This month's topic, "Plant Propagation," will be presented by Louise Biernesser.

June 22, 4 p.m. 
Join the Fiction Fanatics for stimulating conversations about popular works of fiction, at 4 p.m. on the fourth Friday of every month (except May and November). This month's selection is "Uncommon Type" by Tom Hanks. Speak to a staff member to reserve a copy.

Ninth through 12th graders who are 14-18 years old can discuss the read-of-the-month with friends at the Gulf Breeze Library. Bibliobabblers meets at 6 p.m. on the last Tuesday of every month. This month's book is "This Mortal Coil" by Emily Suvada.

Graphic Novel Book Club - Milton Library - 5541 Alabama St. 
June 27, 5 p.m. 
Join fellow graphic novel enthusiasts at the Milton Library on the fourth Wednesday each month to discuss the book of the month. Members can suggest reading ideas, interests, and discuss the world of the graphic novel. This month's selection is "The Astonishing Ant-Man Vol. 1 by Nick Spencer.Visit the library to register.

A Date with Dough - Pace Library - 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd.
June 29, 4 - 5 p.m. 
Join us for a date with play dough! Children ages 4 - 8 can create a fun dough figure and interact with them in a virtual world. Supplies will be provided by the Friends of the Pace Library. Space is limited; see a staff member to register.
