Well, here it is--one of the best times of the year to be a Mainer. Whether you are vacationing or just slipping in some fun on your lunch break, there are endless ways to enjoy the long sun-drenched days of July. We offer several in this issue, from the newly released Green & Healthy Maine Visitor's Guide to great beach reading, from dining on the deck to cycling on some rail tracks--and so much more. Read on, and then go out and enjoy!
Outdoor Dining Season

It's deck season! A great time to savor some local fare along with the scenery and the mild summer air. Your SunriseGuide can hook you up with all of the above, PLUS great savings!

Steep yourself in summer with some delectable seafood at Sea Salt Lobster.

Enjoy the local harvest at Gather (or grab a take-home meal and have a picnic!).

Take in the tunes along with your burger and sunshine at Run of the Mill Brew Pub.

People-watch in Monument Square while tackling a mighty sandwich at Sisters Gourmet Deli.

Grab a celebrated take-out lunch from Lois' Natural Market and extend your lunch break on the Eastern Prom or Higgins Beach.

Sit yourself at one of OTTO's sidewalk tables or take a pizza to go on your next fresh air outing.

Kick back and take in some rays along with your local brew at Sebago Brewing

And of course, go wherever SaltBox Cafe may be found and be certain to enjoy not only the fresh breezes but some deliciously fresh flavors as well!

Physicians for Social Responsibility hosts
the second annual "Food for Good" event

Food for Good, taking place on Sunday, July 30 from 1-4 at O'Maine Studios in Portland, is Maine's only food event that raises awareness about the connection between what we eat and climate change.

Enjoy climate friendly foods from local restaurants. Join in the excitement of the Climate Cake Competition (yes, cake!) being judged by local celebs and foodies! And learn from local chefs during cooking demonstrations.

Be the highest bidder and walk away with fabulous auction items to make your life healthier and more fun!  Cash bar, music, and fun with friends who share the same passion for preventing climate change.

Follow this link for more information and to purchase your tickets. Last year's event sold out, so act quickly!
