Be Unique - Be a Leader - Be Aquinas
Knightly News - February 18, 2018
"For the Catholic, spiritual growth can be nothing but a continual turning to Christ. In this we come to understand an astonishing truth, that spiritual growth is really a growth in relationship, a constant deepening of our relationship with Christ" (Our Sunday Visitor, 2010).

St. Thomas Aquinas connects our Catholic faith to all that we do, with the intent of helping our students realize spiritual growth. We believe that true spiritual growth will make a world of difference in the lives of our students, both while they are walking the halls of St. Thomas Aquinas and when they leave as graduates.
Principal's Post

This weekend 43 STA senior and junior students are taking part in the annual Kairos retreat. This is a special voluntary retreat that is led by senior student leaders. It is an impactful retreat that makes the STA experience different and more spiritually enriching than other schools. Please keep these students in your prayers as they will be on retreat from Sunday through Tuesday.

I want to pass on congratulations to the Aquinas Cheerleaders who took 1st Place in the 9th Annual Saint Michael’s Cheerleading Competition at Kennedy Catholic High School in Hermitage, PA, on Saturday February 17th.

Please continue to pray for God’s will to be done at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School.

Have a great Aquinas week!

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.

Go Knights!
Lenten Season
As we help our students develop a faith-filled character and prepare them, not just for life after graduation, but to live a life of worth, we find that Lent plays an important part in their spiritual development. We hope you will join us in prayer, reflection, sacrifice, and giving to others this season. We will gather together as a school community often during Lent, guests are welcome to join us.
Notes from Campus Ministry
Mrs. Michelle May is our Campus Minister and has worked at St. Thomas Aquinas since 2010. She assists with the faith and leadership development of our students through planning school Mass, prayer services, retreats, blood drives, and service opportunities throughout the year.

Blood Drive
Lifeshare Blood Drive will take place on Wednesday, February 28th . Students who are 16-17 must have a signed parental consent form. Please contact Mrs. May to schedule an appointment to donate. Your donation can save up to 4 lives!

Liturgy
The freshman and sophomores will celebrate liturgy in the upstairs chapel on Wednesday morning. The boys are encouraged to wear button down shirts and ties

Retreats
The Kairos retreat will take place this Sunday, February 18-20 . Forty-one juniors and seniors will take time to refresh and renew themselves and relationships with family, friends and God. Please keep the students and adults in your prayers.

Service Hours
Service hours for our high school students, can be recorded to My School Progress (MSP). Students should use their own account (not the parent account) to record the hours. Go to the MSP website, click the menu tab and click on volunteer hours and add all service opportunities and description. Once hours are added, Mrs. May will approve them. Students should keep a written record of their own service hours, as well.

Fancy meeting you here!

Karla Rhoads '04 (right) is sharing her story about herself and another St. Thomas Aquinas High School Alumnae, Bridgette (Heline) Romberger '06 (left), who both work at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.

Karla works in Goodyear's Consumer Tire segment as a National Program Manager building incentive programs for North American independent tire retailers as well as managing The Tire & Service Network, a turn-key, comprehensive program that includes marketing, training, and revenue generating solutions.

Bridgette is a Fleet solutions Sales Manager based out of Pennsylvania. She works in Goodyear's Commercial Tire segment contributing to sales growth through utilization of programs, promotion, and relationship building throughout her Eastern PA territory.

Working in different segments of a large corporation, it was ironic how our work collided a few years back through a NASCAR sales promotion. Then after several unsuccessful attempts, it wasn’t until December 2017 at the annual Sales Conference in Orlando, Florida, when they were able to catch up.  St. Thomas Aquinas taught them both a lot of values that we apply to our work at Goodyear and it was great to catch up about work and memories we will never forget.

Ways to Support STA
St Thomas Aquinas High School is partnering with Schoola ( www.schoola.com ).

What’s Schoola? It’s a great way to raise funds for our school. Schoola collects pre-loved women's and children’s clothes, preps and sells them online, and gives 40% of the proceeds (minus the cost of inbound shipping) back to St Thomas Aquinas High School to help fund programs for our kids. That’s $2 out of every $5 earned back to our school! Simply click on the image to view our very own Schoola landing page where you can request a bag and view our progress and funds earned

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to St. Thomas Aquinas High School & Middle School to help fund programs for our students. Every little bit counts, donations quickly add up.

It's easy! Type smile.amazon.com and log into your Amazon.com account. Select St. Thomas Aquinas High School (yes the Middle School benefits too!), Louisville, OH. That's it. Now whenever you make a purchase STA benefits.

Thank you for your support!

Don't forget to forward this to your family and friends! And encourage them to  sign up  to receive their own copy of this email blast.
