Be Unique - Be a Leader - Be Aquinas
Knightly News - March 11, 2018
Did you know that 93% of our families receive some level of tuition assistance? An outstanding Catholic education is possible for any family!

Be sure to visit the " Tuition Scholarship " page on our website under Admissions to see the many ways we make St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School affordable. The deadline for the Wolsonovich Scholarship is March 16th and the deadline for many of our first wave tuition assistance options is March 23!
Principal's Post

As part of the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation process, St. Thomas Aquinas was visited by an External Validation Team (EVT) made up of Catholic School principals from the Youngstown Diocese and other parts of Ohio. Their review was very favorable with the experienced chairman stating that our plan for school improvement was one of the better ones he has reviewed. Also, the entire team was impressed with our teachers and their commitment to STA.

One theme that the EVT noted was the sense of family that the STA staff communicated during their interviews with the EVT. With that in mind I want to share a video featuring Mike McCoy, Notre Dame and Green Bay Packers football player who shares the importance of huddling with our our families so that we can defeat our opponent, the devil. Click here for the video .

Also, we need everyone in the Aquinas family to support our school by attending the upcoming STA auction, “Aquinas Gold,” which will be held Saturday, March 24th at La Pizzeria in Canton. This auction will be a spectacular event with many amazing items available to bid on including some great vacation getaways and the most adorable and well-behaved puppy! This is Aquinas’ biggest fundraiser of the year and we need our entire STA family’s support to make it a success. Please send in your reservations as soon as possible.

Please continue to pray to God that St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School fulfils the will of God everyday.

Have a great Aquinas week!

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.

Safety Reminder

All staff, students, and family members are reminded that NO ONE should open the door and let other people in , no matter who they are or whether you know them. We have a procedure in place for allowing individuals entry into the school. Our doors are always to remain locked. Everyone must buzz in, visually identify themselves, and report to the main office to sign-in during the school day. Further, if you or someone you know ever hears or sees something of concern, please SAY something to an administrator. School safety requires everyone's help! We're a close-knit, faith-centered community; together we will continue to ensure our students thrive in a safe, family environment.
Community Resources

Several school districts, locally and nationally, have been responding to actualized and threatened instances of violence. We ask you to join us in prayer for all those affected. Please be assured that our staff monitors all of these situations closely and stays abreast of local developments. As always, the safety and physical, spiritual, and mental well-being of our students is our top priority. Stark County Catholic High Schools do have safeguards in place consistent with state law for the protection of our students and staff. For safety reasons, our doors are always locked, admittance to our building is monitored, and anyone who enters our schools during the day must sign-in and sign-out. No staff, student or parent should open doors for visitors; they must be admitted by our office staff who permit entrance after visually confirming a visitor’s identity and the reason for their visit. Our staff has had training for emergency situations, we have practiced lock-down drills, we have reunification plans, and we have emergency plans and procedures in place to address critical conditions.

We feel fortunate to have a small, close-knit community that allows us to stay personally connected to our students and their families. Students and family members are encouraged to reach out with needs or concerns to any member of our staff so that we can work together for the health of our St. Thomas Aquinas and Central Catholic family. Both schools have counselors, campus ministers, religious staff, and committed faculty members on staff to help any student and are available throughout the day to lend a listening ear.

If you or someone you know is suffering or acts in a behavior that causes concern please reach out to our staff so that we can help and/or call one of the numbers listed below. With the help of our partners at home and the vigilance of our staff and student body, we are hopeful that St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School and Central Catholic High School will continue to be a safe, faith-centered environment where students can flourish.

Ways to Support STA
St Thomas Aquinas High School is partnering with Schoola ( www.schoola.com ).

What’s Schoola? It’s a great way to raise funds for our school. Schoola collects pre-loved women's and children’s clothes, preps and sells them online, and gives 40% of the proceeds (minus the cost of inbound shipping) back to St Thomas Aquinas High School to help fund programs for our kids. That’s $2 out of every $5 earned back to our school! Simply click on the image to view our very own Schoola landing page where you can request a bag and view our progress and funds earned

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to St. Thomas Aquinas High School & Middle School to help fund programs for our students. Every little bit counts, donations quickly add up.

It's easy! Type smile.amazon.com and log into your Amazon.com account. Select St. Thomas Aquinas High School (yes the Middle School benefits too!), Louisville, OH. That's it. Now whenever you make a purchase STA benefits.

Thank you for your support!
