Be Unique - Be a Leader - Be Aquinas
Knightly News - October 15, 2017
Principal's Post

This past week we held the STARS banquet which recognizes academic achievement for high school students. Mr. John Sirpilla, Class of 1984 and Stark County Catholic High Schools Board President, was the honored speaker. He shared with them that life is hard and we all have our own crosses to bear, but don’t worry because you are going to be ok. I thank John for his wise words and his leadership to the school.

Thursday night was a great night for the STA volleyball team and the “Dungeon” student section. The volleyball team came back to beat Central Catholic in 5 sets. The gym was rockin’ and the students were cheering wildly for the Lady Knights. I even received a comment from a Central Catholic parent who enjoyed watching the enthusiasm, fun, and creativity that our students demonstrated. It was an evening where you just had to feel proud to be a Knight.

In today’s epistle, St. PauI writes to the Philippians that “I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.” In one sentence Paul demonstrated his total reliance on and faith in God. These are good words to remember as we strive to follow Christ in our daily lives.

Please continue to pray for God’s will to be done at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School and for God to strengthen us as we pursue Truth, Scholarship, and Excellence.

Have a great Aquinas week!

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.
Principal Schlueter

Go Knights!
Did you know that on the 2015 Ohio Graduation Test, which was last administered to all sophomores in Ohio during the spring of 2015, Central Catholic and St. Thomas Aquinas High Schools SCORED HIGHER THAN ALL 17 Stark County public schools in Reading and Writing? Central scored highest in Science and St. Thomas scored highest in Social Studies compared to all 17 public schools. Catholic school makes a difference!

Ways to Support STA
St Thomas Aquinas High School is partnering with Schoola ( www.schoola.com ).

What’s Schoola? It’s a great way to raise funds for our school. Schoola collects pre-loved women's and children’s clothes, preps and sells them online, and gives 40% of the proceeds (minus the cost of inbound shipping) back to St Thomas Aquinas High School to help fund programs for our kids. That’s $2 out of every $5 earned back to our school! Simply click on the image to view our very own Schoola landing page where you can request a bag and view our progress and funds earned

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to St. Thomas Aquinas High School & Middle School to help fund programs for our students. Every little bit counts, donations quickly add up.

It's easy! Type smile.amazon.com and log into your Amazon.com account. Select St. Thomas Aquinas High School (yes the Middle School benefits too!), Louisville, OH. That's it. Now whenever you make a purchase STA benefits.

Thank you for your support!

Don't forget to forward this to your family and friends! And encourage them to  sign up  to receive their own copy of this email blast.
