Be Unique - Be a Leader - Be Aquinas
Knightly News - September 10, 2017
Principal's Post

It’s Central Week! This should be a high energy week as our students and football players prepare for the game against our rivals.

Prior to the game on September 14th, St. Thomas Aquinas will host an Open House from 5:00 until 6:30. Please encourage friends who are considering St. Thomas Aquinas for their children to attend. You are our best advocates.

One big improvement to the educational experience at St. Thomas Aquinas this year is the increase in technology available to students and staff. Specifically, we have added 4 Chromebook carts with 24 Chromebooks in each cart. We now have a Chromebook cart in each high school hallway and two carts in the middle school for teachers to use in their classrooms. We have also installed wall-mounted projectors into many of the classrooms. Finally, all of the teachers have been provided new laptop computers. All of these upgrades will enhance the educational experience of all our students.

In today’s Gospel Jesus said “ if two of you agree on earth about anything for which they to pray, it shall be granted to them by my heavenly Father.

I would like to pray for God’s will to be done at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School. If you agree with this, then please pray to God for it. Then we can proceed in hope and faith that “it shall be granted.”

Have a great Aquinas week!

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.

Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry would like to reach out to our alumni and offer a card of support or prayer. Parents can email me their child's address who might have just moved away to college, or started a new job, got married, had a baby, or even someone who needs prayers due to health issues or might be grieving. We want to remind our alumni that they matter and we think of them and continue to pray for them.

Parents can email Mrs. Michelle May at mmay@youngstowndiocese.org

Please be sure to invite your friends who may be interested in attending St. Thomas Aquinas. Families who attend the open house will receive FREE admission to the STA vs Canton Central Catholic footbal game.
News From the Band Room
Greetings parents and alumni!

Our band is growing!  There is a need for instruments and funding. If you or someone you know have an instrument that is collecting dust but is still in working order, we would love to take it off your hands and put into the hands of an eager beginner student.

Many thanks to Mrs. Tina Perna for her generous donation of a saxophone! We are in need of trumpets and clarinets, specifically. Please note, if clarinets have water damage or are moldy we won’t be able to use them as it is too costly to repair them. Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and will go towards the purchase of percussion equipment and method books.

The band will also be holding a fruit sale. The dates are to be determined but be on the lookout as fruit makes a great Christmas gift!

If you are able to help in any way, please contact me.

Thank you and Go Knights!

Ways to Support STA
St Thomas Aquinas High School is partnering with Schoola ( www.schoola.com ).

What’s Schoola? It’s a great way to raise funds for our school. Schoola collects pre-loved women's and children’s clothes, preps and sells them online, and gives 40% of the proceeds (minus the cost of inbound shipping) back to St Thomas Aquinas High School to help fund programs for our kids. That’s $2 out of every $5 earned back to our school! Simply click on the image to view our very own Schoola landing page where you can request a bag and view our progress and funds earned

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to St. Thomas Aquinas High School & Middle School to help fund programs for our students. Every little bit counts, donations quickly add up.

It's easy! Type smile.amazon.com and log into your Amazon.com account. Select St. Thomas Aquinas High School (yes the Middle School benefits too!), Louisville, OH. That's it. Now whenever you make a purchase STA benefits.

Thank you for your support!

Don't forget to forward this to your family and friends! And encourage them to  sign up  to receive their own copy of this email blast.
